I've installed two of these, and it only takes a 7mm nut driver or socket, and a few minutes. It fits between the front splitter and the bumper with existing screws. No modification, and completely removable.
I have a removable frame on my GS but I like this design much better than the other brand's center mount. The lower mounting looks more natural and doesn't give the impression of blocking the air flow. Very nice design.

I've been looking for a good front license plate bracket for my GS and haven't decided whether or not I want to go removeable, permanent, or GM stick on. This option interests me. Could I get some more info?

Have a couple left and I think a few more being made. This one mounts in the factory chin spoiler mounting points. Any other info. that you'd like?
