FS Headlight Projector mounting clips
These clips are what hold the C6 projector in place inside the C6 headlight. There are 3 in each light. If you have lights that jiggle or shoot up into the trees or sky you most likely have one or more of these clips broken.
Two forces are at work. These clips are somewhat delicate. A hard bump just right can break them. Over time the heat build up inside the light causes these clips to get brittle. From there breakage is possible.
Each clip is 6.00 plus shipping. Shipping is combined on multiple clips.

Do I have to REMOVE the headlamp or can I do this with the lamp in the car? BOTH my lamps are flickering.

To determine if this is the problem get to the rear of the headlights like you are going to change the bulb. You can put your finger on the back of the HID bulb igniter and see if it moves up and down. If it does move more than just a fraction then there is a clip broken.
You'd have to remove the lights then it's still a pretty difficult chore even with the lights out to get to the upper clip. Bottom and side clip isn't much of a problem.

I think this might be the cause why my light won't stay in place. Once I get it adjusted from the allen screw any bump to the headlight makes the light go out of alignment. Right now the passenger side is about 10" higher than the driver side. Guess this could be the problem? Also I can't even adjust the light position anymore. The allen just keeps turning while the headlight stays in the same place. Any idea to this?
and sorry to bump an old thread.

I think I'd open the claim. Otherwise you have to take the lens off to do the repair and you generally lose the lens requiring a new one.
I have the headlights, replacement lens and clips if it get to where you meed them. If the body replaces the headlight, as they should since you had the accident and most likely damaged the headlight, tell them I'll buy the old headlight from them. I rebuild them.

Update:
Well got the replacement headlight and it fixed the alignment issue fore sure, but I still get the bouncy/shake over small bumps and it is very annoying. I even replaced the new headlight thinking it was defective and still same problem as I just mentioned. It never did this before when I got the car. It is really embarrassing.

I just took a set of lights apart this morning. One of the rods that mount to the projectors was turned a quarter out meaning it was not secure in the light housing. The projector felt solid even with this rod loose until I gave the projector a little torque then I could get movement. Could be another possibility of why the projector can wiggle.

I'm going out for a ride now, just getting dark and will seek out a few rough roads and speed bumps to see if mine do it. I have 100K miles on my car and never noticed it before. It doesn't mean it's not happening.

Probably astronomical odds but these lights don't bouncy around without cause. Maybe the little bit being reported is normal and most don't notice it.

Light beam is rock solid.
If you decide to tear into your lights (spare set) let me know I'll assist in any way I can to help get to the bottom of this.
