Default F/S Z06/ZR1 rear mount battery kit

SOLD

I planned to install this set of parts in my '08 coupe, but then I sold the car. I wanted to use factory parts mostly so that the tech guy at the drag strip would not tell me I had to install a battery cutoff switch, but also because factory parts have been proven in several year's worth of Z06s. This kit would cost you more than $500 plus shipping to duplicate. I'll take $350 plus $UPS for this set never-installed parts. Please PM if interested. Thanks for looking!

BTW, some of the part numbers have changed since I bought this stuff. I think it's because they are now used on the ZR1. Also note that I didn't post new prices for all the parts in my kit, e.g. the vent tube, so please don't add up the prices in the pic and then say it's less than $500.

I had a question about the cables maybe being aluminum. I don't know that answer, but the collection of parts shown in my first pic weighs 11 pounds on my bathroom scale. The long cable weighs 5 pounds.

I finally got a peek at the end of the long cable through the heat shrink - definitely copper.

No, that wasn’t me. I did a Vortech, suspension, StopTechs, and a few other bits, but never considered a dry sump.

Here's how the cables are routed. Very clean!

Nobody wants to move their battery to the back to improve weight distribution?

I still have all these parts stored in a box in the attic. Shoot me a PM if interested.

Lol Carlos posts in all the for sale ads and tries to lowball the sellers. I've seen it in at least 4 other f/s threads.

O/P-the problem you're going to have is that most people who put the battery in the back don't care too much about keeping the OEM parts as they, as you have noticed, very expensive. I would be interested in this kit if it included a Braille battery but at $450, that's a little steep. I understand you paid that much because they are the OEM parts but for $450, I could buy a braille battery and get the rest of the necessary parts and still have money left over.

If you decide to drop the price, let me know as I'm looking to do the exact same thing in my car.

Either way, good luck with your sale

EDIT: Most guys want to run a lighter battery in the back (as do I)--any idea how the smaller one would fit with this kit?

You bust the buyers chops for offering 100.00 less than the selling price after its sat for 2 months, but then turn around and tell the seller he's selling it for to much money???

Pot meet kettle.

OP, While I completely disagree with the last guys ballbusting, I completely agree with his thought on the price. It can be done for much less using the same type of components, just aftermarket.

If you still have it, and are willing to come down on price, I'd give you 375.00 shipped. Im not trying to negociate or lowball Its just the absolute most I would do. Any more, and I would go aftermarket. Im not trying to one up the 350 offer. I just think its worth a tad more than that IMHO.

Help me understand how I was lowballing the OP--I never offered a price, I just said he was too high on his asking price, and the reason why, and if he was willing to come down on it, that I might be interested. I'm not sure how that warrants a 'pot meet kettle' comment, but but I'll be sure to avoid anything you sell on this forum.

If you're interested, this is just an example of what this guy does.
Look him up, you'll see it all over the place.

OP, I know how hard it is trying to sell brand new parts that you paid full retail for, but again, if you decide you're willing to come down on your asking price, I'm a buyer.

Either way, good luck with your sale

I was considering picking this kit up until I saw this pic:

There's no way I'm running that battery cable over the passengers head like that... I'd never be able to take the top off again!

I always wondered why GM only made the Z06's in fixed roof...

Ummm, it doesn't run over the passenger's head. The "3" in the diagram points to where the ground wire goes over the wheel well. Look at "view B" in post #6.

You can come back now. We won't make fun of you!

I know, it was all in fun... it looked like the thread was getting a little tense so I thought I would try to lighten things up a little.

No replies to my PMs, so the Z06 battery kit is still up for grabs.
