yes this is a true plug and play there is no splicing of any wires for this
You have an ipod cable thats about 6 feet long or so and you can run it to anywhere you would like it. The you simply plug it into the ipod
steering wheel controls do not matter.
You cars radio has the band or xm option on it. This will work. Worst case you have to have the dealer activate this protion of the radio if they did not do this on initial setup of the car.

non nav. i got one of these from you for my vette but i figured it would work in the truck also. i hooked it up and found that when i toggled the band option the ipod didn't come up. how long should i have left it plugged in to recognize it?

If the dealer never activated the feature on the car it will not read the ipod kit.
You also might have to reset the ipod as well.

Did you ever find the installation video for the Corvette? I checked tube and their web site and did not see anything specific to a 'Vette. The ones I did see, Cad' Escalade, required removing the radio. Is this the same on the Vette?

No i am still trying to find where i found it.
Its really simple
it takes leff than 15 minutes to remove bezel and radio. Maybe an hour to install one of these.
I will look some more tonight while I am answering messages fo everyone
