This adds an interesting complication for future shoppers ... real Gumbys (i.e., OEM) are forged ... the reproductions are cast. Wonder if it is possible to tell the difference? Glad Bob sold me a set of real ones last year ...

HATE TO RAIN ON YOUR PARADE BUT IF THAT PICTURE IS A GOOD REPRESENTATION OF "GUMBY" WHEELS, THEY DO NOT LOOK IDENTICAL NOR AS GOOD AS THE ORIGINAL. I HAVE A SET OF OEM "GUMBY" WHEELS AND I SPOTTED THE DIFFERENCE AS SOON AS I LOOKED AT THE PICTURE. SORRY.

Default Reproduction gumby vs OEM

I would have to agree that the picture is not the same as OEM gumby's , and I think the differences are obvious. I may have seen these for sale on ebay too. I too have been waiting for a set of reproductions...and I think I just found a good set here if the picture is representitive:

http://www.westcoastcorvette.com

These really look like the OEM chrome wheels. I can't see any waves, or dimensional differences from OEM wheels. I emailed them and asked about differences to OEM and they said all dimensions were within 1/8". I also asked is the spokes were just as thin as OEM near the rim, but haven't heard a reply yet. If they are the same, then the price is right too.

I'd post a pic, but don't want to jip it from the source.

NEW: After re-reading the original post to this topic, he states that the picture is a "file" picture to show the "style" of the wheel. Perhaps the actual wheel is much better than this...maybe he'll post a more accurate picture if that is the case. I can't find any other pictures yet at the House of Wheels site.
