Funny thing is the weather has been fairly decent around Chicago (50's-60's) and I'm half tempted to put the car back on normal insurance just so I can go out and do some logging/tuning. I've been following along on your build and I can't wait to see how it turns out!

Shouldn't street cars always be on normal insurance? If its above 40 or so it's getting sent!

You're not wrong! I already started disassembling the current fuel feed/return setup in preparation for the Aero 7.0 and holy cow they want you to feed that pump with a garden hose! I hit up Racetronix last night to start my first order for fittings etc and once I get things mounted roughly where I want them will order the remaining fittings/hose ends. I'm at the point where I should just yank the stock fuel tanks and go with a fuel cell, but for now I'm just adding a -16 an bulkhead to the tank to feed a -16 Aeromotive pre-filter. I'm going to skip the post filter for now as I've never run one in the past and usually clean my filters/injectors yearly. I already have an ECS E85 bulkhead (-10/-8) that I'm going to repurpose for the -10 fuel return and will cap the -8an port or add a valve so I can drain the tank pretty easily if required.

True a lot of classes don't like the W's, might be worth having two sets.
What are your IATs w that beast intercooler

Going off memory I want to say there was a 10* rise on a dyno pull. I deleted all the logs off the Holley when I got the car home since there were so many and I had no idea what event they correlated to. I'm a data junky so I'll be tracking a bunch of items once I have more seat time in the car.

I figured I would give everyone following along a quick update since it's been a while since I posted. I wound up ditching the stock saddle tanks/pump and went with a fuel cell located where the mufflers used to reside. It's a 12gallon cell with a -16 feed to the pre-filter/pump, -10 out of post filter split to -8's at the rails, with a -10 return. This is running an Aeromotive 7.0 gpm brushless pump which I'm triggering via the Holley. I took the car out to the track last month for a private rental to get some seat time and work out the clutch tuning/power tuning/suspension setup. Unfortunately I was only able to run DR's, as the wheels my slicks are mounted on require a small spacer to fit which I didn't have.
  • 1st Run: 11.8 @ 100 (1.8 60') - I didn't have enough pre-load/counter weight on the clutch so it just pegged the rev limiter in each gear due to it slipping
  • 2nd Run: Added some more counter weight/pre-load. Snapped an axle getting too aggressive on 2-step/launch boost.
  • 3rd Run: 10.3 @ 151 (1.8 60') - Swapped in a replacement axle. Pulled out 2-step RPM/boost and was running ~10psi dome up top
  • 4th Run: 9.4 @ 157 (1.6 60') - Added some more counter weight/pre-load. Pulled out 2-step RPM/boost and was running ~12 psi dome up top
  • 5th Run: 9.1 @ 161 (1.4 60') - Pulled out 2-step RPM/boost and was running ~15 psi dome up top
  • 6th Run: 10.8 @ 91 (1.4 60') - Pulled out 2-step RPM/boost and was running ~18 psi dome up top. I believe I snapped an input shaft on this run because as soon as it went into 3rd the car wasn't under power. Based on my 330' time (3.8 sec.) the car was on it's way to an 8 second pass. I have to pull the drivetrain to determine what broke.

At this point I've realized that going fast with a 6-speed takes way more dedication/time than I'm willing to spend hitting my goals. I found a guy selling a used RPM Powerglide setup on Facebook that I picked up and will be selling my clutch, gearbox, torque tube setup. Looking at my shift times in my logs - my granny shifting is costing me ~1.2 second in a quarter mile pass. With this change and some better axles I'm hoping to dip into the low 8's and possibly 7's once I can leave the line under more power and continue to back-half with it turned up. The PG setup was running 1.1 60' on the previous owners car, which would phenomenal if I can get close to that. A few pics below from the outing and also of the fuel cell & Powerglide. I'll try to grab some pics with the cell installed and fuel pump/lines once I put it all back together.

Such a clean build, this is probably one of the cleanest turbo kits I've seen for a c6. Which headers are those off ebay, do you have a link?

To be honest with you after watching this build and seeing those dyno numbers i was absolutely shocked you wanted to run this car with a clutch drivetrain...but the very beginning of your thread you said you wanted to see where the clutch set up would take you!!!
Your mph there is defenitely a mid 8 second run.Im turned down a bunch less then your making and im running 8.sixties at 154-156.it took me alot of work on my irs to get there so i cant imagine what you would have to do suspension wise to go low eights to high sevens!!
Keep us updated and i still want to see if he can make me a belly pan?

Thank you - I really appreciate that!! I don't know exactly which ones he used, but I just took them off to wrap them and these look very similar: https://www.ebay.com/itm/12519509411...0AAOSwuAVWycZ-

I still love bangin gears and the dog box was a blast to drive. The clutch setup really is the difference to going quick with a stick, but requires constant tuning to dial it in and I'm just looking to go as fast a possible consistently. Your times are promising for me since you run a Powerglide too right? My setup should go 170+ once I start to add more power - 15psi dome pressure isn't even in the peak efficiency range for the turbos. Suspension wise I should be good to go for an IRS car. I really don't want to chop it up to do a 4-link setup and solid rear axle. Hit up Koza Performance - he can probably still make you a pan otherwise I know a few others were making them.

Another thing I've been working on lately is thermal management to reduce under hood temps and keep things cool. So far I've added turbo blankets, wrapped the downpipe/manifolds with DEI titanium wrap, and insulated the A2W water tank. Next areas I'm thinking of addressing are the A2W core and intercooler pipes. I may add some heat reflective tape to the front-side of the heads and also thinking of adding an oil cooler back to the car since the iron block really retains heat and once it's hot really doesn't cool off.

So you never said. What did you end up breaking the last time you were out with a manual trans?

I'm pulling the trans this weekend since I was waiting for the PG setup to arrive to do the swap. I'll report back once I know more.

Haha, trust me, I get it. Just messing with you. You have to have deep pockets and love punishment to have a high HP stick Corvette.

It's been a minute since posting any updates, but here's the cliff notes.
1. Powerglide installed - turned out to have a bad pump - Powerglide uninstalled/fixed - Powerglide reinstalled
2. Cleaned up some wiring and installed a cheap switch panel for starting car/line lock
3. Wired up transbrake / bump / scramble
4. Modified bumper scoop to allow air direct to turbos and installed some bellmouths for the track
5. Did some grudge racing on the street a few hours after putting it back together
6. Now I'm in the process of swapping out the B&M Bandit shifter for an M&M airshifter

Some pics/vids:

It was the output shaft that snapped

Thank you for the update, looks like it did not hurt the rear differential. Glad you're up and running scooting and booting
