Anyone gone from 800 plus blower set up to a stroker NA?
ANyone ditched thier blower set up and gone to a NA strorker? Just tossing around ideas in my head. Thinking of ditching the blower set up and building a nice 427. Anyone done this? Regrets? I love my blower set up and its fast and makes cool noises but I miss the power band and the way of a NA motor. I made 1k on this set up, Ive kicked the **** out of exotics, I just dont know if I care to be stupid fast anymore. Might enjoy it more if I go back to NA. Thoughts?

I think you’re crazy lol. Building an na setup that’s fast isn’t cheap and it’ll still be much slower.

I probably am lol. My favorite car to drive was my heads and cam iroc. Made 486 to the tire. I also started getting in to racing at the track. When I dial in my car, I’m going to need a cage good to 8.50. That sucks lol. My 900 dollar injectors are at 118 percent. My clutch is going to need upgrading. My T trim isn’t going to live being spun over 60k rpm. I’ll have to go ysi to get what I want out of a blower package I terms of down low power. That’s more money and more in supporting mods
I just think that maybe I should build the Vette for fun and build another car that’s turbo and more racecar status.
I think a 427 with 570 to over 600 to the tire would be more fun.

Another thing that’s sucks is that I have to order everything. Custom blower hub front seal, every belt for the blower and AA secondary drive set up.
If I snap a belt I’m down for a few days. I just miss the days of easy maintenance. Run to the store and get the part.

We have gone that route for a few guys who wanted to go dedicated road racing, which is understandable, but they all regretted it on the street.

Hah, I just made a post like this on the Z06/ZR1 sub-forum. After my engine blew, I had all sorts of thoughts run through my head. My turbo setup is more of race first, cruise second type of build. Very niche these days. My ideal NA build would follow the same path.
Basic rundown:
Resleeved LS2 block - 454ci 13.5:1+ compression
Brodix BR7 273cc port from BTR - 416cfm @ .700"
Cammotion LLSR - Not sure on the specs but I have an idea on where I would want to land
T&D pedestal mount adjustable roller rockers
Holley Hi Ram base with a Visner Lid and Accufab or Wilson 125mm throttle body - 5" intake tube with a velocity stack (for racing)
Davies Craig water pump setup
Powerbond 25% UD balancer, no p/s, no a/c
ARH 2" headers, x-pipe, and custom exhaust (likely dumped again)
Mantic triple disc clutch
RPM 4.10 gears - Still 160mph at 8000rpm with a 28" tire
Pull weight out of the car to get it as close to 2700lbs (or lower) as possible
Holley Terminator X will be handling engine management

I've heard of a few guys recently wanting to ditch their blower setups in favor of a nasty NA setup. I've owned both and while the typical NA setup wont be as fast as a well built boosted car, they can be just as much fun without the headaches.

I ended up selling all my blower stuff. I built a Dart based 427 with high compression. Made over 650rwhp on 2 different dynos. ALos installed 3.90 gears. I dont regret ****,
