Default Blower help, F1A-94 Ysi-B F1-X

Looking for some input here...

Finalizing my winter project for my 2006 z06, build will consist of;

HPR built 427;
Dart Lsnext aluminum block
Dart CCW crank
Callies Ultra H beams
Wiseco custom hard anodized pistons
Trick flow 6 bolt gen x 260's
custom centri cam
CR 10:1

ARH 1 7/8
MSD atomic
NW102 boost TB
ID injectors (1050x.., not sure on cc yet)
Fore L2 dual pump fuel system
Alky cocntrol dual nozzle meth

Tr6060
RPM stage 4 diff
1500hp drive shaft
1000hp cv's
monster triple

this isnt a daily driver, occasional sunday cruise, 1/2 mile and mile events. occasional 1/4.

Original plan was A&A 10 rib with secondary drive, radiator and A&A intercooler. Ys1, or YSi B. 2.75 upper and 10% OD lower.

I would like to get close to the 1000 whp mark on pump and meth, if need be ill run race gas if its going to be that much safer.

any feedback on the F1A-94, f1-x would be great, Any major differences in mid range vs YSi with the right pulley setup?... i would like some room to add some more power if i want down the road. Is the YSi going to maxed out with this set up. step up ratio on the prochargers would definitely help with slippage issues with larger pulleys ....

thanks!!!!!

buddy of mine locally has a C6Z with a built LS7 YSI-B with the 2.7 upper 10% lower pump meth and it barely squeezed out 1k.

My car is a 418 LS3 higher compression, YSI 2.7 10% E85 and it made 1040 at 6200 rpm. I have better heads, more compression, E85 etc.

Most people agree the difference between the YSI and YSI-B is not very noticeable both blowers perform very well when being overspun.

Due to the fact that the long block you're building can hold 1500+ with ease I would go with a F1x with room to grow.

I would try to get E85 if I could. More power and safer. Injectors might be little small as well.

Do e85, up the compression, and run the F1A-94.

Thanks guys !

Unfortunately we don’t have much access to e85 here in Alberta Canada , I think there are a few stations kicking around . I’m not opposed to running race gas, or E. maybe that’s a better bet , bump the CR up and don’t Dick around with crappy pump gas .

Its still a 6 speed car so I don’t want to lose all the mid range ,
I have heard good things about the f1a 94. Is anybody here running the much bigger X” with a similar build ???

Tons of F1X 427 cars running around. Again depends on what you want the car to do. F1X would be considered max effort but considering you're building a dart ls next block it would appear you're already headed in that direction.

Another local good friend of mine has a ERL Superdeck 427 F1X car that makes 1200+ through a glide swap. Cars been 5.2X in 8th at 138-140ish. Again max effort kinda setup. Nothing wrong with pump gas meth but meth setups can fail, etc.
Most people who go this route don't drive the car very often and when they do its either cruising it to put some miles on it or they are racing it. So race gas, or E85 isn't a big deal because the car either see a short drive to the store and back or is being raced.

Id stay away from pump gas in general just because E85, Ignite, Race Gas, etc is safer, runs better, make more power, etc.

Ysi will make 1100 with ease.
The ratio and pulley size actually doesn't work that way, and bigger pulley with a harder step up to drive just evens out. Either one will need a solid pulley setup.

Unless you want a full out race car or just internet bragging rights, I would do the YSI or f1a-94. They are more reliable and better street setups, and can go mid 7s if needed on proper setup.

MSD atomic should be ditched before it takes out the motor and causes other issues.
Dual pump will limit you anyways to ~1000-1100. F1X is just not as streetable and the big key, not as reliable as the other blowers.

Agreed with the step up ratio, only benefit would be more surface area for the belt - less chance of slip. I guess the ability to over spin the PC . I can always go to a triple pump, I haven’t purchased that yet. I think the consensus is race gas or E85 to keep it safe. I thought about a sheet metal intake as well, but don’t want to have to change my hood ...... I don’t need internet bragging rights lol, a streetable race set up is more important to me

i think Fran at RPM is making big power on an f1a-94. But I also don’t plan on doing a power glide.

Ill have to do some research on the intake.

It isn't less chance of slip though, as it is harder to turn so it evens out.

Stock intake will make 1100 all day long.

Thanks Unreal! Much appreciated . I still have my stock manifold , I don’t foresee huge gains from spending $2k + on a sheet metal....

so if I go with ysi, 2.7 should do it hey? What’s going to be equivalent pulley set up for the PC ?

Thanks again

3.0 on a YSi will make over 1000. 2.7 should be 1100+ with ease.

I’d go with 2” headers if you haven’t purchased already.

Anybody have an suggestions on intake manifolds, Holley Hi-Ram is one that seems to work and actually makes more power with boost...I will be running an Nw 102... ill worry about hood clearance later.

Buy my 2200R that's for sale so I know it goes to a good home. It's a Ysi with a billet casing.

I made 1100 pretty easily on e85 with a 2200r on a 402, .stock intake manifold.

I ran Andy’s intercooler with an F2 pullied to the max. Was it the best for that setup? Probably not but it got the job done and IATs were manageable. Would definitely run at least 2 x 50mm BOVs. I actually ran 3 Tial Q’s. 2 on the charge pipe just before the intercooler and 1 on the intercooler itself.
