Default Another Hood Vent Option - ACS Composite

I contemplated the Camaro vent but it protruded too deeply into the engine bay. I did not want the WC hood. Trying to keep a low profile.

I used the ZR1 hood vent made by ACS and had my local body shop cut it in.

It it does not protrude at all into engine bay. Thought I would give you guys a look at another option. Sorry for the crappy cell phone photos.......

Looks good.
Does it bond onto the hood? If so, what kind of adhesive did you use?
And, enquiring minds want to know what is UNDER that hood!?
The middle finger reflection in the last photo is a nice touch.

1. Yes, it was bonded to the hood. We did not use the adhesive that ACS provides (black sweaty windshield adhesive) but their template is very helpful. Quality product. . Body shop used some adhesive that was much more hardcore. I'll find out and let you know.
2. LME 427, Dart block, Allpro heads, twin turbo (PTE 6466) build. Details to come in another thread very soon.
3. The one finger salute was for the body shop owner/a friend of mine. Pre wet sanding. I spent all day wet sanding and buffing the flat parts - something got on the car while at the fabricator and it etched the clear. Later this week, the sides.

I currently use the Z-28 vent and, yes, the bottom of the vent does protrude into the engine compartment, so much that it has rubbed part of the logo off from the FAST intake manifold.

I was curious to know the deminisions of the ZR1 vent. I would love to replace the Z-28 vent, as long as it did not require a new hood.

Thanks

I came really close to sending my ZL1 vent back and doing the ACS instead, but could never find any good pics of the ACS on a base/GS hood. That looks really good, much cleaner look since the lip is under the hood instead of above it with the ZL1 vent. Kind of wished I'd gone that route now, but I'm happy enough with the ZL1 not to switch at this point.

I checked their website, no dimensions listed.

The car is still at ECS, otherwise I'd measure it for you. I think the Z28 vent is smaller and narrower than the SS9 vent based on photos but I'm not sure. You should call ACS. They answer the phone and are happy to answer questions.

I have added the dimensions of the Louvered insert on the website, Dims are in mm, equivalent to 18.9"x16.9"

Ira - that's a really sharp option! I'm pumped that you're build is in the home stretch. Cheers to an awesome build and great guy.

Thanks.

Glad to see your upgrades are in the home stretch as well. When I'm done wet sanding and buffing mine, yours is next.

My vent arrived this afternoon. Can't wait to start cutting my perfect condition hood this weekend.

Whoops, wrong thread. Why in the world does the forum automatically flow into new threads when you're on mobile?
