More boost & other upgrades
So this all started because my fan connector shorted out. Looked at it and thought, that would be a 5 minute job if blower wasn't there, but since it is, I might as well take it back in to Bret and let him fix it. And if I'm going to do that, I might as well have him change the belt, so I might as well change the pulley to a 3.4 and go ahead and max out my little V3 Si. And of course while we're doing that, we should probably change the valve springs, and then he suggested going ahead and doing the push rods, trunion bushings and swapping to one of his alternators. Plus I'd been thinking of doing a dual wide band for a while just to be able to monitor A/F, so that went in as well. Car is of course faster now, and was pulling neck & neck with my buddies GS with the same blower (3.8 pulley) that has cam and LTs (I'm on stock cam & LS7 manifolds) that was making just over 700RW, so I'm very happy with it. Will be running WGF Texas this weekend to see how it improves in the 1/2 mile, and will get a dyno done after that. Also went back to the 19/20 Cup wheels and mounted some M/T Street SSs on the rear. Will see how they handle the power.
Of course this wasn't enough and since I was spending money, I figured go ahead and do a few other things I had waiting to go on. Dropped the car at the body shop and had the front bumper cover repainted (had a few scrapes and road rash on it), added the ZR1 bumper support and added the ZL1 hood vent. Very happy with the results and the look. Pretty much done with the car (famous last words of course ).

awesome. you'll love the vents too. I recently did the trackspec vents and made the front end of the car much much more stable at 100+ mph at the 1/2 mile and car cools back down much much faster at speed.

Reducing front end lift was just as important to me as any cooling benefits. I do both 1/2 mile and 1 mile events (doing WGF Texas 1/2 mile this weekend), so that was why the ZR1 bumper support as well.

Let us know how 1/2 mile goes--I'm curious to see how much better you'll do than I did

I did 162 last year at WGF TX and 157.5 at the Arkansas Mile (187 in the mile). So I'm interested as well. I think WGF was off last year as that's a big difference from the 1/2 mile at the Arkansas Mile event.

car looks sweet, I like the hood vent... how do you like that innovate wideband so far?... I've been looking at the same one, I currently have an ngk and don't want to use 2 boxes when I swap to dual widebands

Car did great this weekend at WannaGoFast TX, ran 162MPH in the 1/2 mile, but the stock clutch is finally giving up (big surprise since I'm pushing at least 50% more power than what it was designed for ). Need to do some research on what the best clutch to replace it is, seems that a lot of people I know really like the Mantic, so will probably go with their twin.

I wish c5's were capable of using dashlogic... I might have to try one of those dual widebands out sometime, add that to the list of never ending things to buy... I was at Suplur Springs today, I did 169 and could have done better if I got off the line better than I did but I'm still happy with how the car ran

Melting Slicks
Glad you got faster Evan! I'm stripping my car this week for the new round of mods. Are you absolutely sure you don't want these lovely coated and catless LG headers of mine?
