Heads, intake manifold, etc etc don't need to be crazy. Let the blower do the work.

mind sharing why you guys went with f1x over the f1a94 or some other blower? Surprised youd rather restrict the f1x down rather than go with a ysi or something else

Those blowers are not capable of 1200whp, or further. The crank/rods/pistons in this engine are capable of 1450whp, and in the event that we broke the block, we would transfer the rotating assembly over to an LSnext or dart block, at which point, we would keep the blower and unrestrict it.

different strokes for different folks, the F1x is a great blower, and works well on these cars.

thanks. I thought Fran was pushing about that out of the 94a but I guess if pushing for 1,200whp f1x is the go-to.

He probably was, but with a very high dollar engine combo and a set of cylinder heads that were designed for the setup.

You can take an F1x, and a basic engine combo, and make big power for not a whole lot of money (comparatively speaking)

Or you can take a smaller blower, and then you have to back it up with a big engine with a lot of proper race parts to make that same power.

Its a simple combo. Stock LS3 heads, stock block, forged crank/rods/pistons, a proper cam, and big blower with some decent boost.

I think there are a few F1A 94's that make a bit over 1200whp including frans. But if you plan for over 1200 def F1X is the way to go.

I don't think there needs to be a pissing constest over which blower is good for what.

Certainly the F1A-94 can make some serious power as shown by Fran and the Fark's 5th gen.

But, there's a reason the F1X isn't allowed in those classes and the F1A-94 is.

And that's why the op chose the F1X. Because it will make more power than the other options.

Excellent build.

care to share why you guys felt the Dallas Performance J bracket was necessary upgrade for the ECS secondary/flip drive?

I'm looking at getting a flip drive next and don't want to battle belt issues (again) so just want to do everything possible to make it perfect the first time

They are two different things. The J bracket is for the main blower. Flip drive is not effected by the J bracket. Typically people run that because that is how you do a 10 rib on a PC. PC makes an 8 rib or 12 rib last time I checked, but DP makes "J bracket" to run a 10 rib.

Also that expensive big engine costs a lot more to replace than a well built basic engine w/ big blower if something explodes. At least the blowers rarely suffer damage.

totally agree, I didn't realize people were reliably putting down 1100whp with 4 bolt heads so I went way overkill when I did my longblock and spent more money than I needed to. Not bad to be overkill and now I've got the longblock for 1500+hp but if doing again I would have built something like this probably.
