Default Finally some headway

Well guys after many delays and some unexpected changes we are finally at the machine shop... The original plan was for a set of mahle 2618 Pistons but we ended up going with a custom set of Arias pistons and we are now doing a 408 rather then a 402. We have decided to go with a 4.00 inch stroke and a 4.030 inch bore. A little bit bigger but I hope it all works out in the end. Hoping to have the car picked up next week before one of our snow storms hits up here in Canada. Such a long time coming but I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'll keep u guys posted!!!

Well the machine shop done a great job with the block. It looks awesome. Only thing I'm concerned about is the fact that it's bore is now 4.030 which makes it into a 408 with the 4 inch crank. I know that's the limit with the ls2. If some of you guys out there are using a 408 ls2 could you chime in and tell me your experiences with it on a 1000 hp build. Cheers.

A few years back I had an LS2 block that was .030 over. It was a mistake by the machine shop. I didn't want to sell it to a customer "just in case"
I put it in my Trailblazer SS with a YSi and ran it for almost two years before selling it and doing a 427. It worked just fine.

Hey Andy. Thanks for helping me out with this build. You and josh have been great to deal with. I'm currently in a bad dilemma. I bought the rxt clutch and it won't fit my ls2 because the ls2 flywheel is recessed. I've been scrambling and I've exhausted all resources trying to find a ls1 flywheel which is flat and 14 inches in diameter to fit to the rxt clutch so I can get the job done. Do you guys have one laying around? If so how long would it take to ship to me? Cheers.

Coming along nicely now. New flywheel will be here in the am. Finished up running all the meth wiring and going to start the stage 2 fuel system in the next hour or so. Decided to install the blower on the car before we put it back in. After taking a few measurements it looks like the only thing we got to do to make it come up through the bottom is release the tension on the alternator and let it go. The width of the compartment is 30 inches but the width of the engine with the alternator on is just about 32 inches. Only thing I can see being a problem is the head unit may scrape going up. If so we will remove the ac cooler.

I would take the alternator off... Literally takes a minute to put back on once the engine is in.

Yeah we already decided to do that it can't fit with it on.
