Default Want a Big Blower Cam

I've been looking at adding a bigger cam to my set up since I'm upgrading my blower now. I had a smallish one installed now, the specs are 226-240 570. 590 on a 116 lsa. I want a huge cam now that my new car came in and don't have to drive the corvette every day. What's a good big blower cam and makes good power with a F1X blower? Thanks.

Here's my old camaro's cam and it's the type of sound I'm looking for because it didn't require fly cutting the pistons.

I've got a 247/263 .661/.661 (1.8 rockers) 114 lsa in my C6.

Is that big enough for you?

The Jam cam is good. I would caution against buying a cam purely for sound when you're running a supercharger. If you go with too much overlap, you will be sending much of your aircharge straight out the exhaust. Not too smart. A better idea is to get a cam properly designed with the right valve events for your combo and have it idling at a low enough rpm where it sounds nasty. A proper big blower cam idling at 650 rpm sounds like a pro stocker and works much better than a dirty NA cam idling at 950 rpm. The Jam Cam is representative of what's big and what works and still sounds nasty with a lower idle rpm.

I've been talking to my builder and he's going to get a custom cam spec'd out for me. I am more worried about the power that the cam makes but also I want that old school sound with it.

Good advice here. Don't just buy a cam for sound get a good blower cam then turn down the idle to make it lope.

People still buy cams for sound?

Get one that's spec' properly for your combo.

Lol...that's exactly what I was thinking...

Most of the time, the tuning has way more to do with "cam" sound then the actual cam.. You can set the idle to a commanded 13.8-14.0 Afr and make even the "biggest" cam idle almost dead smooth..

As they say, "it's all in the tune"

I like my Pat G cam, but maybe would have gone bigger if I would go back. It drives great, no issues, and to me sounds good, but I wanted stock like driving.

I would just have Pat spec something out. Very happy with my cam from him.

In his defense he only mentioned in passing about it wanting to sound like his old cam. I have felt the same way about my cam. Sure it's not the best idea to go out and buy a ***** thumpr cam with a blower but if it's a blower spec'd cam or nitrous cam with a nasty lope I don't see the harm. Not everyone is about pushing max numbers.

Plus I know many people who have spent $1000-2000 on an axleback (myself included) which flowed the same but changed the sound. I could have all the horsepower in the world but if it sounded like a weed eater I probably wouldn't drive it.

I'm pretty sure the ysi and 2200r are rated the same for POWA . You may have to go bigger to gain cfm .

2200R is a Ysi. Same exact compressor, same part number. Only difference is the tag and the case which has ZERO effect on power or performance.
