15" wheel people, tire selection
So what tires are people running on 15" wheels on 800+rwhp vettes? Leaning towards the 275 MT pros. Other options are 325 ET streets, 325 M&H, or hoosiers.
Want to drive to track, maybe some highway runs, but mostly concerned about track performance. Seems like the 275 pro is the choice for track cars for sure, but they wear quickly on the street.

I've seen the Hoosiers in action on the highway and that's a dangerous tire to be one. Way too soft. He was making 850+. Saw h8rmkr at 1100 on the Mickey thompsons and they looked like they were stable and hooked well. The 17 inch m&h work well also, but haven't tried the 15s. Hope that helps

Burning Brakes
I bought 4 of the 15x10's for that reason - 2 with the 275 Pro's for track days and 2 with the M/T Streets for Friday night fun. Going to have the ones running the 275's bead locked.

Yah, hoosiers are out. If it was drag only maybe, but reading up it seems like the 275s out hook them anyways. Everything I've read says the 275s hook much better than the 325s. Leaning towards the 275s.

If you haven't heard of the X275 drag racing, I suggest checking it out. They use a 275 drag radial. I went and watch them run a few weeks ago in Denton, TX. My jaw just drop watching them. The best time I saw was a 4.62 at 159 MPH in the 1/8 mile. There was a monte carlo SS running. it manage to do a wheel stand twice.

For 15's I'd go with the 275 MT Pro's if it were me. I'm on 17's and went Hoosier...lighter, stickier, and faster than MT in my opinion. Stability? Not so much. Longevity? Not so much.

275 pro it is. I assume AF knows what he is talking about.
Width isn't everything. The 275 is a different compound and construction than the 325/295/etc. Hooks a lot harder. I believe all the radial records are on the 275.

Back in the day I went 1.32 60' on the 325, a ton of people have gone 1.1x on the 275 Pro tire...
I have gone 1.08 60' on the 315 tire, but believe I can do better on the 275. If we weren't mid season we would probably switch to it now.

The reason i personally went with the 325, and hopefully this info isnt wrong, but while the 275 Pro hooks much better...it wears a LOT faster and for people who see almost exclusively street time, replacing the 275s every other month would get costly.

I just need to make it 8 miles to track and back. 345 et streets will still be my primary street tire.
