Making more than 500 safely is not the problem which we do all the time, the problem is the limitation of the stock 4L60E transmission in a boosted situation, third gear is a small clutch that usually doesn't like more than 500 RWHP before it starts slipping. When we build our cars we think of all situations for reliability, not just throwing as much power to the car knowing it will not last for the customer.
