^^Im not sure anynmore, ace32x keeps talkngme into an RHS 502Ci motor with some juice

Original plan was an all out forged 427 with an 88m turbo but after reading some threads it appears that turbo might be too small and im not sure i want a bigger turbo.

Will research superchargers next

Ok guys, its decision time. My motor has 100% sold and been pulled out of my car.

I have shopped around and i gotta tell you some of our supporting vendors here just dont care. I got couple quotes from couple big name shops and price was unrealistic. Will also say that couple vendors were nice and took their time to explain stuff and put out competitive quotes

Has anyone put purchase a longblock from Mast, they are supper competitive and nice ppl to talk to

^^Hopefully the above copies over well but longblock with those parts is right around $16k

Bryan @ LME is also one awesome dude to talk to, his quote came in very competitive to the Mast but he would use Ultra billet Callies rods and Crower shaft rockers and is slightly more in price.

So that's what im down to...i'd like to hear what you guys have to say about specs and what not.

Others have quoted me using Trick flow heads....any thoughts on those heads?

TF doesn't have ls7 heads out yet, so you would be going with ls3 style heads.

I would go with LME over mast but that is me.

I guess they are saying they combined the LS7 and LS3 into their 255 gen X head but vendor still confirming which intake mani to run but i thin ur right the ls3

They have an ls7 head coming out. I think the vendor maybe out of it. I wouldn't do those heads, and yes the 255 gen x use ls3 intake.

Can't comment in Mast. LME did a great job on my engine and Bryan was a pleasure to work with. I wouldn't use anyone else next time around.

Do any of you have TMS(Thompson motorsports)
http://thompsonmotorsports.net/

They are a lot cheaper than most places but they use an Eagle crank and pretty much everything else like others. I looked them up and have solid rep and used on LS1tech

I have not gotten my engine done yet, but I do plan on taking it to DRM. I don't need a new block, so I'll be using my LS2 and getting it done to be able to handle 1100-1200 hp crank as my goal is under 900 whp.

Futral Motorsports built my ls3 with TF heads. Should be over 900whp when done. But Looks like a nice line up of parts and looks like you found someone who you like to do the work. Trust them and make sure you are clear on everything you want and you should be fine.

Tx Speed did my last one. Everything was new on the long block . VERY mild custom Comp cam. 218/230 118lsa using Comp's supposedly mild LXL lobes. Daily driver truck that rarely saw any rpm north of 5500. They put the long block together. It broke a valve spring inside of a year. They were "nice" enough to either buy me one new valve spring (one) or sell me a full set at a discount. I thought they could have done a little better than that. I mentioned that their cost on a new set of valve springs would buy them lots of good will. They disagreed. I won't be doing much, if any, business with them from this point forward.

I have read some interesting stuff on Texas Speed for sure. They are slightly cheaper than other shops but appear to have the most issues. This could be due to higher volume.

Mast and LME build sheets are very close and rated for 1300whp+ by them but im not so sure i will ever make that power or anything north of 900whp.

Nicely spec'd forged LS3 is about $12k that should be able to hold 900whp but key word should. So i keep asking myself if its worth dropping the extra $5k for better hardware or not...ah this is rough to decide

I beat the dogsnot out of my old LME 416 nitrous stoker for over 6 years. I have nothing to say but praise to LME. The other Texas vendor mentioned, I couldn't care if they stayed in business or not.

Figure out end goal. Honestly I would do a nice forged ls3, 750-800rwhp and call it a day. I keep turning my car down and down. I think ~800rwhp is the sweet spot for a c6 chassis. Past that traction and other issues rise up.

I had TMS building my first LSX and they tried to sub a eagle crank for a Dragonslayer which was supposed to be on back order and said it was exactly the same quality/cost and all then a few other details they were clueless about they got tired of me catching them in the BS and refunded my money! Lots use them with good results but not me they said i was never going to be happy i said exactly when your slinging all this BS my way!
Stay with Bryan at LME he will treat you right!

Unless you plan on an auto, 15" wheels/etc and going all out then there is no point in going to insane. Plus it depends on what events/etc you have. If you live in Texas/etc and have miles events then I guess more power won't hurt. Out here all we have is a strict drag strip so doesn't really help to make another 200-300rwhp.

Thanks guys for your opinions. Texas Speed and TMS are out.

LME & Mast are my only options at this point.

Car will be mainly used for roll racing in Seattle temps which in summer are in mid 80s if that.

Sounds like Unreal and Ace are recommending sticking to 800ish whp. Do i just stick with a forged 416 LS3. My only concern with a 416 would be how long can it take say 850whp? Then, which heads do i go with?

Picked up the phone called LME and they didnt sound too excited about LS3 and he seemed very sincere more so than trying to sell me the more expensive LSx Block.

He did mentioned that he would much prefer LS2 402 block due to cylinder wall thickness.

Waiting to get a new 402 quote.
