My "fix what I broke" build

Blower just showed back up from Vortech today. They replaced all the bearings and seals along with doing the upgrade to a Ti trim compressor wheel. The Ti wheel is a bit more efficient and flows 1400cfm. I'm going to put the 3.125" pulley on it to start with and the ATI 7.5" crank pulley. Which will put me at 60,480rpm impeller speed at 7000rpm engine speed. Basically 10% overdriven since the blower is rated at 55,000rpm. Still waiting on the pistons to show up to get the motor assembled.

Machine work on the block is done. Just need a keyway cut in the crank for the ATI balancer and the rotating assembly still needs balanced. I can't wait to get it back. Still debating whether I'm going to do the first tune on E85+meth or 91+meth.

Hellz yes ! I know the feeling all to well Jon . No doubt your vette will be sick ! Either way you go with fuel I'm confident you will fine tune it to be exceptional . The down time can make you take short cuts at times but you stayed the coarse . Unfortunately whatever the shop and machine shop quote as down time is usually increased by 20% in builds . People compromise or stray in a different direct which usually ends substandard . I can't wait to hear and see the fruit of your labor lol . You gonna tune it yourself ?

Since y'all have e85 readily available why don't you buy the flex fuel kit so you don't have to worry about what you put in? Best of both worlds

Probably will eventually. For now I'm just going to do a 91+meth tune. On my way in to work last night I noticed the one station that used to have E85 has the pump covered up. The other station is 15 miles in the opposite direction of the way I go to work.

Tune
I would stay pump gas if you plan to trailor or drive it any distance for any reason . I'm fortunate to have good fuel sources in NC with all the race shops and tracks . We have 100 octane at the pump in some stations . I may go the similar route . My factory crAnk is forged . I'm thinking when I bolt on a blower I may do rods and pistons . My top end is complete .

So am I, lol. Not sure how much timing I'm going to get in her with it being over 100F already. The new Dewitt's and dual fans will help a little though. A vented or cowled hood is on my list. If I decide to keep it. My wife mentioned that she would rather I haul *** through the desert and I should buy a Raptor. I'm tempted.

Problem is Raptors aren't that great for that. Great trucks, but people are busting the **** out of them trying to go fast off road.
