I think a lot of people over turbo their cars. Just saw a 416 TT make ~910rwhp on 11psi on 56mm turbos barely pushing it. Powerband was damn nice. No reason to run a 66+ to make 1000rwhp.

It's just such a tight fit, trying to keep AC, PS, and all the other creature comforts while making a bad *** top mount setup with 62mm turbos is somewhat tight.

Figured this would be a good place to ask. How much better is your new c6 hotside piping and 3" dp's compared to the 2.5" dp's and hotside where it had to be squared off. I have the older kit with smaller turbos. Just debating on upgrading

I did the upgrade my installer loved the new 3" dp ... Have small turbos also should have numbers soon i hope ! U have any numbers whp ?

We still use the 5871's as the base turbos for the kit, and generally 800-850 is the cross over point where the 6182R's become more efficient. If you're under that, I would probably just recommend staying where you're at. If you want more I would recommend the upgrade.

I have, it's beautiful. But trying to steer away from directly copying someone else design, and keeping the whole kit within a perspective budget (for the end user) we're trying to steer away from things like a full radiator replacement.

It's really dependent upon what your power numbers and goals are. Obviously the 3" will flow more, but if you're a stock bottom end running 8psi as a bolt on kit, 3" aren't going going to see a HUGE increase. Now if you're trying to run 20psi on a built bottom end, yes, probably worth the upgrade.

Definitely. I got wrapped up into the horsepower game and went from twin 57s to twin 6776s on my built 5.4 dohc in my stang.. got it back and was like wtf, this sucks!! I like small turbos for the street..

Apricatte the response CK! And that you are not doing a direct copy of anything! It's got to be hard packing everything in there. Have you concidered going cast or billet on any components to help with packaging? I know it adds cost but can make life, and results a lot better!

Melting Slicks
To me those are the two biggest things in the way when trying to come up with a big power/optimal solution for turbos on these cars.
I will make adjustments to both when its time for a custom kit..

Just wanted to throw in an update on here. We're getting close to completion on this kit here. Just doing the final welding now before the photo shoot, and install with video instructions.
It's taking a bit with all of the out-sourcing with water-jetting and machine work, but we're confident that it will all pay off in the end, as we've went to extended levels to make sure this kit is a hit right out of the box!
