Supercharger on z51 tranny
I'm going to be supercharging my 2006 z51 c6 and curious to how it's gonna be .. I have 402 stroker now and I shift so quick being the z51 . When I race my buddy's cammed z . I shift twice before his once.. Any thoughts in maybe swapping to z06 tranny for longer gears with the power I'm going to make? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

I had a Z51 tr6060 on my Maggie Vette at 630whp and I played hell trying to shift fast enough to keep up with the low end tq that blower makes! I am swapping to a 4l65 now.

I'm selling my z06 tranny in a month once I swap my built unit in, that being said I think the spline count is different so you would need a z06 rear end for the 30 spline output shaft.

Those were my exact thoughts for a while. Feels like i have to shift more often on my supercharged z51 than on a Z. What are the benefits of having the z51 tranny with that much power? If i change the clutch out what is the best route to take with the tranny send it somewhere or just buy a z06 one?

I agree my shop says wait till it's done and go from there but if your feeling same way and already have the z51. Supercharged you have the experience.. what are you pushing for hp and have you raced an molded z.s

I have never raced a modded c6z before. I have a 08 z51 with a widebody pushing easily 650 rwhp with restrictor plate installed. I was just wondering when the clutch goes out, should i upgrade the trans or get a c6z tranny, will it even work with my diff?

I have a built stage 5 RPM ZO6 tranny in my ZO6. and I want a Z51 gearing. (since I cant changer rear end gears with out swapping whole diffs to the weaker base C6)
really I want 1-3 Z51, and 5-6 ZR1. this will net zor tranny and 3.73 rear gera for 1-4th, then 5 and 6th will be ZR1 whish 5th is better for the standing mile. topping just over 200 instead of 220 like a ZO6

Maybe someone could clarify what im thinking. In a perfect world you have two identical cars with the same power weight traction etc. Racing from a 60 roll would benefit the base/z06 gearing since they are in second and you are in third? I just feel like they will be able to stay in their power band longer on roll races, Since the z51 has to shift much quicker?
