Default JThurik's 9.6X 1/4 mile pass. Dallas Performance C6 GS with 6L80

Just wanted to congratulate John on his great passes last weekend.

This was John's first time to take a car to a 1/4 mile track in the last 20 years haha. He moved to Houston recently, and I wasn't able to be there to support him so he ran it in normal street trim. No track tuning, no remote tuning adjustments, just mash the pedal and go! I think he did well.

No doubt we can cut a few tenths off it with some tweaking track side.

I just thought some of you might like to see the results of a 100% daily drivable combo that was built with reliability in mind.

Wow...Great Times. Makes me want to learn more...

What WHp and WTq?
What Rear wheel and tire sizes?
What A6 and or other drivetrain mods?

Thanks for your reply, Dale

Nice runs. Is it just me or did it shift out of 2nd gear early?

Thanks everyone, Dallas Performance for building and tuning an awesome car Taylor, Luke, Eric and Chris are the best to work with. The track side help from Turbo Geist,Flash 20, Winters97, User_Name, 5litereater and Amar, Hector from Texas Speed Syndicate this would not have been possible.

the build:
Dyno is 830rwhp 785 trq
DP 377 Forged LS3
Mast black label heads
Pro Charger D1SC
DP 10 Rib drive
DP 1000HP fuel system
DP Methanol
Rossler built 6L80E with Circle D triple disk 3400 stall
PFADT Rollbar, Carbon fiber drive shaft, Featherlight SA coilovers and motor and transmission mounts.
Dwitts radiator with duel fans and electric water pump
DP custom oil and transmission coolers
Tires are 345/18" MT ET streets

Also Need to Thank Junkie (Will D) and Ramsey for all the encouragement and bouncing ideas off of.

Definitely sounds like an early 2-3 shift.

Curious to see what this runs with the kinks ironed out and some track-side tweaking.

This is using a forged 377, right? What company built trans?

Yes like I mentioned it was not tweaked at the track. The car makes 800whp and it does not get perfect traction on the street. It has been tuned to make the most of the combo on the street and not over rev with limited traction situations.

At the track where on a highly prepped surface traction is much better the trans shift points will be off some.

The trans is a combo we have been working on for a couple years along with Rossler.

Someday, manufacturers will also develop auto throttle and steering, and the driver will be essentially ballast*.

well I guess in the mean time a built 6L80 should suffice with some twins rather than my T56, then once the auto throttle/steering is devolved I can drink my coffe and hold the camera while in Mexico or on the track

Congrats JThurik and props to Taylor once again!
