Default VR SinisTTer - 195mph, 1586-rwhp, Twin Turbo Street C6!

Where do we even begin… Well, let’s start from the top end of the half-mile track and work our way backwards. What you’re looking at here is our latest twin turbo creation, SinisTTer, which ran 195 miles an hour at the Wanna GO FAST half-mile event, made just over 1580-rwhp on 23psi, and is street driven, Vengeance Racing approved, and flat out wicked. But, of course, things didn’t start this way…

“I had decided I had wanted more out of my blown LS2 and figured if I was going to build the motor I should put more power down and caught a decent deal on a used TTiX kit. I had the goal to hit 200mph in a mile event and wanted a car I could drive for pleasure, be fast and still look the part. I emailed this vision to eight shops, all who I have seen put out 1000rwhp Corvettes here on the forum. I heard back from four of the shops that they would put together a quote for me to get an idea of what it would take to achieve my goals. From here only two actually made me a quote and after reviewing what I would be getting for my money I went with Vengeance. The Vengeance experience began right away...” And once it began, there was no stopping it!

Obviously, the stock motor is long gone, and what we built for Mike was an aggressive street motor stuffed with race car quality parts. An RHS block houses a Callies Dragon Slayer crankshaft, a set of Callies Ultra Billet rods, and a set of Diamond custom pistons. Calico coated main and rod bearings, coated cam bearings, double hard anodized pistons… you get the idea. 441 cubic-inches of fortification topped with a set of 287cc RHS LS7 cylinder heads, T&D shaft mount rockers, and a custom Vengeance Racing solid roller camshaft. No, you can’t have the specs

Engine:

RHS Block, 4.125-inch bore
Callies Dragon Slayer crankshaft, 4.125-inch stroke
Callies Ultra Billet connecting rods, 6.125-inch length
Diamond custom spec pistons, 4.125-inches
Calico coated main & rod bearings
Coated camshaft bearings
Fully Machined to Vengeance Racing specification

Custom Solid Roller Camshaft, Vengeance Racing specification
Morel Ultimate Pro solid lifters
Cloyes timing set with C5R timing chain
Melling oil pump
ARP LSX 6-bolt stud kit
ARP camshaft bolts
RHS 287cc LS7 6-bolt cylinder heads, Titanium intake valves, Inconel exhaust valves
PAC Racing 1225 dual spring kit with Titanium retainers
T&D Shaft Mount adjustable rocker arm system
ATI SFI Damper
Assembled by Vengeance Racing

Now, for most people, a solid roller 440 would be plenty for the street and more than enough for the track but, well, we’re not most people! Which meant we needed to break out the TIG welder and put out in house fabricator, Jey Clegg, to work. And after Mike told us that we “needed” to put the turbochargers where the gas tanks belonged, we knew we were in for a serious build. That’s right, the two Comp C43 72/75 oil-less turbochargers had to fit in the rear quarters of SinisTTer, and the downpipes had to come out right in front of the rear tires. Who were we to argue?

Turbo System:

Comp C43 Series 72/75 .96AR Triplex Oil-less turbochargers
Tial Q blow off valves
Tial MV-R wastegates
Bell 30x10x4.5 front mount intercooler core
Vengeance Racing modified LS7 exhaust manifolds
3-inch oval charge piping and exhaust piping
DEI Titanium heat wrap

Complete turbo system fabrication by Vengeance Racing

With the turbochargers where the fuel tanks were, we obviously needed to build a new fuel system, which Jey did in house. A custom 18 gallon fuel cell was tucked nicely into the trunk, which utilizes an OEM fuel level sending unit for the street and track. Trust us, you don’t want to run out of E85 at the half! Twin Magnafuel pumps grab fuel from twin -12 lines, and send it down to the rails using a pair of -10 lines, which is enough volume to support big boost. There is also a Haltech flex fuel sensor inline, so that Mike can run any combination of E85 and still have the perfect tune up.

Fuel System:

Twin MagnaFuel 4303 Pro Tuner 750 pumps
Fore Innovations fuel pump controller
Haltech Flex-Fuel sensor for E85 conversion
-12 x2 feed lines to pumps
-10 x2 from pumps to rails/regulator
-8 return line
Magnafuel pre & post fuel filters
MagnaFuel 2000HP fuel pressure regulator
18 gallon custom fuel cell utilizing OEM GM fuel level sending unit

Speaking of the perfect tune up, SinisTTer relies on a Haltech Sport 2000 ECU for control, and with dual widebands, it’s easy for Mike to datalog runs and have the ECU correct for any potential issues. Inside, most of the C6 is still in tact – and all of the factory gauges work – although we did add a boost and fuel pressure gauge to keep Mike in the loop.

Engine Management:

ECU/Boost Control
Haltech Sport 2000
Dual Wideband upgrade
Haltech dual Wideband gauge
Autometer fuel pressure gauge
Autometer boost pressure gauge

The drivetrain is pretty typical of any high-quality Corvette that we build, with hard parts from RPM Transmissions, The Drive Shaft Shop, and RPS. A quad-disc clutch takes all of the abuse, tranfering power to the RPM Level VII TR6060 and the RPM Stage IV differential. A Quaife diff splits power to the Drive Shaft Shop axles, which turn (melt) a set of 18-inch Mickey Thompson drag radials.

Drivetrain:

RPS Quad Disc with RPS actuator
Tick adjustable master cylinder with long line/remote bleeder
MGW short throw with MGW ****
Driveshaft Shop carbon-fiber prop shaft
RPM Level VII TR6060 with MH3/ZR1 ratio
RPM Stage IV Differential with Quaife upgrade
Driveshaft Shop Axle/Hub Kit - 2000HP

Power… okay, we’ll just let the graphs speak for themselves.
7psi, 93-octane, M1 methanol: 942-rwhp…

12psi, 93-octane, M1 methanol: 1193-rwhp…

16psi, 93-octane, M1 methanol: 1327-rwhp…

20psi, VP C85, M1 methanol: 1492-rwhp…

23psi, VP C85, M1 methanol: 1586-rwhp!

“Through all this I knew I was getting a fast car, I was quick to realize after seeing their shop that I was going to get a high quality car. What I never expected was to make so many friends along the way to enjoy my hobby with. Ron has gone above and beyond what anyone would have done for me in terms of making myself and my family feel welcome. He treated us all with hospitality, enthusiasm and kindness. They're goal is to make everyone who comes through their door feel like family and they most certainly did that with me. It is not because of what we did either, Ron has treated everyone he encountered the same as if they were life long friends. This has been the greatest experience I have ever had with a purchase of any kind, best of all I get to re-enjoy it every time Ron texts me to see what’s up or when I start the monster up for a ride.”

Video:

TL;DR – 195mph in the half, 1586-rwhp, TT C6 for the STREET!

The backs originally front 18s, I had them widened to 11.5" and then used a 0.5" spacer to clear my BBK. Mind you they do rub a small amount, I find that it scuffs off my tire shine into the inner fender. At some point Ill go wide body but for now Im enjoying the sleeper appeal. Here Lambo Lambo lambo...

I never thought this would happen but Im scared to go any faster. 200 was intense and I can't imagine what 240 would be like. The mile events will require fire suppression and a hefty cage two things I would prefer not installing at this point. My goal right now is 205 in the half, Ive got 11 months to practice

I've got a sickness for speed and Ron wrote me just the right prescription; a 440ci dose of Twin turbo goodness

I know man I apologize my work schedule is demanding at the moment. Good news is it calms down in a few weeks and I finish with rotations in March. Id like to do some action videos and photos with you if possible

Will sold his Z to a Georgian who will be bumping up the fuel system and adding an RPS quad so we can see how the two builds compare
