Default 2008 MN6 coupe, I want a 135mph trapping pump gas car.

However, I do not want to install headers and end up with a sticking clutch pedal, I do not want to deal with meth injection and I would rather not change the clutch. I don't plan on running slicks, the car will mostly be used for launching horribly at the strip and weekly runs in mexico to 180-200mph.

Can this be done reliably with a V3 SI & 3.6" pulley and the standard A&A kit or should I go buy a ZR1/GTR?

Not going to happen. Nor will a ZR1 or GTR trap over 135. You'll need the A&A kit, blower cam, and a new clutch to do that.

no they won't go 135 stock, but pretty easy and reliable to get them there without much hassle/maintenance

If you don't want to do headers or a clutch, get a different car. Zr1 or GTR would be great choice. GT500 may get you there too.

Why aren't you willing to do a clutch?

it's not that i'm not willing to, I just only want to do so many things before I consider going with a different car... I've owned this one for 6yrs and it's been great, i'm not opposed to other cars

Why would headers make clutch stick? Heat?

Don't want to spend ~$2k on a clutch but a $30k+ investment in a different car is reasonable?

You'll need headers, clutch, A&A kit, fuel system upgrade, and a blower cam. You'll trap between 135 and 140 all day with that setup. One call to A&A and a few days for the parts to arrive and you're set.

Modding a ZR1 is just a waste of money because you can get to that level much MUCH cheaper.

My clutch hasn't stuck at all since doing headers and a blower. I'm still on a stock LS7 clutch at 673rwhp. If I tried to drag race it would frag the clutch. I'm usually MMOB down in Mexico when I do a quick 3-4 pull. If you don't want to do headers, at least do Z06 manifolds and full 3" Z06 exhaust. A cam will really wake it up and you don't have to be aggressive on the cam at all to make awesome power while still having stock like drivability. When my stock clutch lets go I will be installing a McLeod RXT. Drives like stock and holds 1000hp.

You're talking $8k in upgrades or a $40k investment in a new car.

If you have the cash buy a GTR.

it's all just options, I don't mind blower/clutch/headers on what I have but then i'm kind of married to it and what about longevity? It seems like a cammed Z06 with untouched heads is in the ballpark of where I want to be too

I would have the heads rebuilt by WCCH on a Z06 if I bought one just for piece of mind. Or buy a car with the heads already done. One of my friends is selling a Z06 with a Livernois cam/heads and nitrous. Damn near 700 to the tire on a 125 shot. Very well taken care of and a beautiful car.

Why go with an 08? You will then be into a car for 65k! But hey it's your money! I hope you find what your looking for!

have an 08 now, prefer the center console, 6060 and other improvements...head work and other things aren't an issue if I end up where I want to be... whats' that car trap off the bottle anyway?

Haven't run the bottle at the track but being the car trapped 132 mph on stock clutch with no nitrous I would guess 145 or so with the new clutch and nitrous.

Tranny swap and center console are easy to fix. Hell it already has the 08+ center console. 6060 swap would be $1500-1700 if you do it yourself and sell the stock t56.
