Default Wheel/Tire Setup for 750rwhp

I came across some new MT ET Streets 275/40/17 for sale in the classifieds: https://www.corvetteforum.com/c6-parts-for-sale-wanted/3325569-pair-of-brand-new-mt-et-drag-radial.html I currently run Nitto NT05R 345/35/19 on my widebooty 2006 Z51. If I were to buy these tires and a pair of C5Z fronts, would I be able to hook better at 750rwhp than the NT05R's? I am looking for something to use to run at 1/2 mile events (maybe occasional 1/4). At the Houston 1/2 mile event traction was pretty much non-existent in 1st-2nd. Also would this narrower combo look/fit ok due to my wide booty?

I would try a 345/35-18 Mickey on a 18x12-18x13 wheel if those NT05R's aren't working for ya. What pressure you running the Nitto's at?

At the track I lowered to around 23-25 psi, didn't want to get to squirrelly on the top end of the 1/2.

I have a ccw drag pack for sale 345/35/18 mickeys with skinny fronts. You should hook with them. Ran them at one event no problems rims are 18x13 and 18x4 don't remember what size the front tires are.

I would suggest not using mickey's for half/mile events. Sidewall is soft and they have blown before since they aren't rated for those types of speeds.

I would think for that kind of event you'd be better off with a Hoosier R6

So it must be the heat buildup in the 1/2 and mile events that messes with drag tires. Between R6 and A6, which would be a better fit?

Part of it, but the tire having a soft sidewall expands a lot more than regular tire at high speeds and if people don't take that into account with their wheelwells and it makes contact of course it's going to blow out. The A6 is a softer compound than the R6, so it will get better traction.

Never had any issues with the A6 at the Texas Mile.

They're the same speed rating just different compounds, so I'm not sure why it would matter...guys do qualifying laps on A6 and then will run R6 in the race because they last longer

Has anyone ran both the NT05R and the Hoosier A6/R6 and could say if traction is better with the Hoosier than the NT05R?
