Default New ECS Kit - Need Fuel Pump Info

I wanted to get some quick advice on a recent fuel pump related issue on my freshly supercharged (ECS SC1500) 08 LS3.

Do I need to run a boost-a-pump with the heavier duty Z06 pump? I put in the stronger Z06 pump after having a failure during post-supercharger install tuning.

Thanks,
Rob

At minimum you need a boost a pump for that setup. I am running a Z06 pump , KB bap and racetronix harness and have no pressure drop at full throttle. I think that is the absolute minimum setup for our cars.

Just fishing for some info here but last week it turns out I blew the 20 amp fuse for the fuel pump in the underhood fuse block. I'm running a brand new Z06 pump and a boost-a-pump with the stock wiring harness. What I keep hearing is that the solution is to simply swap out the 20 for a 25 amp.

Is this really the solution? It seems very "bandaid" to me and it contradicts the info I'm seeing above in this thread. Anybody else running this way?

I would call it a bandaid too. Wonder if the z06 has a 25 amp fuse. Either way it is drawing more than the 20 can hold. Probably because the wiring is on the small side.

I agree with what others have said here. The hot wire kit is cheap. I'm using it and a BAP on my build. If running low boost you could try just the hot wire kit. Some blower kits say we don't need them on the ls3.

You have to consider what the BAP will draw on top of the normal factory draw, so at that point replacing the fuse makes sense assuming you are using the factory fuse/wire to power the BAP and fuel pump.

I think I'm going to replace the harness with a Racetronix just for piece of mind. Found a local shop that will do it at a good price that says they do it on all of their builds.

Racetronix harness is a good idea. It makes wiring in a BAP easier, and it draws power from the alternator which is stronger and more steady. With the Z06 pump, BAP, and harness, I have not seen any drops in pressure yet.

I always put 30amp fuse in fusebox and at BAP when doing it on C6s. No issues.
