8 rib vs 8 rib flip drive
Im looking into doing a 8 rib and ditching this 6 rib when the engine gets built. My question is do I need to spend the money on a 8 rib conversion with flip drive stuff or do I just get an all in one 8 rib conversation. Looking at the ati kit.
Ill be on a moderate size pulley for 90% of the time on my d1.
thanks for the input

Ya the dallas performance piece is the other one im looking at. Im going to try the intake off of detoxxs car but I have the a&a procharger bracket that looks like the sc sits lower or the procharger kit moves things lower. We will see soon

I decided to try the Dallas Performance flip drive with my six rib setup. I will have a 7.5" crank pulley and 3.125" blower pulley with my T-trim. I'm dropping the car off on Monday and it should be retuned by that next Saturday. I'm also doing some Brian Tooley dual springs and pushrods so I can spin it to 6800-7000rpm if I want.

I highly recommend doing a direct drive..

I got the direct drive from a buddy demodding his car. Just email Dallas Performance. But if I remember right they are around $750. I agree with the ten rib idea. It's only an extra couple hundred. Colorado Speed has them on sale right now also for $1341.

You only need the crank/blower pulleys for 8/10 rib once you do the DD. So don't waste money on the whole kit.

Jump to the ten rib set up. with a six rib for the a/c. The 4 rib belt does not hold when it is 90+ outside with a/c under a load. If you have to buy the 8 rib pulleys the 10 rib set up will be very close in price and you will be ready for the next step.

I went with the Dp DD 8 rib setup. Like with anything, preferences will be all over the place. When I do builds, I look to add quality, durability and reliability, as well as room from growing.

Yes definitely agree. This build will be the cars final resting place and will see plenty of beatings.

Lets say he does the 8 rib kit without the direct drive is it as simple as adding the direct drive later if he wants or will he need some other knick knack things?
