For those of you guys that have the # 10 spring, what color is it? The place I ordered mine from did not seem to understand what I was asking for. He did say the 10lb spring is not painted, at the end of our conversation, while the others are painted based on the weight of the spring (3lb red, etc). I dont want to put the wrong spring in my BOV. Let me know.
Going to try the #10 spring instead of the #3 I have in there now to see how the car drives. The street sweeper sound is getting a little annoying.

Still going to be loud.

It will change how much air escapes at idle/low rpm to reduce the constant 'street sweeper' noise of a blower car. A higher pressure spring will remain closed at those cruising rpms, so as long as you have a smaller filtered/muffled bypass somewhere pre-intercooler, it will vent through that more quietly.

The 2nd valve is the 'right' way to do it, but most don't. Just putting a stiff spring in the 1 valve will keep it closed more/more quiet, but it will also not vent sufficiently at low speed/part throttle.

Pitufina, thanks for the link. Looks like I got the right one
Hey guys, I am not trying to make the car quieter. I only wanted to try the # 10 spring, since from what I understand, it will change the way the air vents.
With the # 3 spring, its always letting out air up while cruising, until boost starts to build, then it vents again when letting off the gas or shifting.
My understanding is, the # 10 spring will keep the BOV closed while cruising, until boost starts to build and you finally let off the gas or shift, so it gets rid of the street sweeper sound while cruising.
I will try it and see how it goes. Worse case, I put the # 3 spring back in.
I don't want it to be quieter. Like Doug has mentioned, he feels the # 10 makes the vent sound more pronounced when the seal breaks on the BOV to vent.
Hope that makes sense.
I will report back here once I install the spring this Friday.

Ok so what happens if I use the # 10 spring yet the car idles at # 9 of vacuum. It never idles at #10. This is an ecs 1500 with stock can and headers. Running meth also. So what would happen. I know Doug to make sure it idles at 10 vacuum or higher in order to use the # 10 spring.

Yeah I've been watching it this whole weekend. Idles at 9. Car runs perfect by the way. On deceleration while in gear, vacuum will go up to 12. But I've never seen it idle at anything over 9. So I'm wondering if i can still use that 10 lb spring.

How's the difference in sound compared to the 3 psi spring?

I haven't put the # 10 spring in. Don't know if it will work since I don't idle over 9 lbs of vacuum. I don't want to put it in if it's going to cause problems.
Nobody has answered the question yet. What happens if I use the #10 , though my car is not idling at 10 lbs of vacuum (or what ever the unit of vacuum is)or higher?

Car will be quieter, a lot from the valve not opening. Could have some drivability issues depending on tune and maf reverb from no where for the air to go from the blower. A bit of extra stress on the blower. Try it and see. It only takes ~15 minutes to swap the springs.

You can hear mine pretty good in these videos. Running the -6 spring in mine.
