Default For all the people who think you need 6 bolt blocks for big boost-step in!

How's this little STOCK BOTTOM end 5.3 manage?

1259 at 30 psi?

Something to think about for all those that say heads won't stay on after 20 psi.

Never owned a 6 bolt block lol! I've told a lot off ppl its in the tuning! Big Red from Lethal is a 4 bolt setup as well. Hell I've never even owned anything but Aluminum blocks as well. But I've never pushed the issue as everyone will call BS etc... So whats the point I just let them do what they want lol!

We think were alike there buddy-I tell people you have 2 options-change the head gaskets ( 4 bolt ) or change the pistons/rods ( 6 bolt ).

Yes..it's in the tuning and the setup. Look at where the torque peak is at on that motor and think about the cylinder pressures. Much like you wouldn't want to hit a big shot of nitrous at 2500rpms.

Edit- before you guys see stars- that little motor has a HUGE cam in it. Peak torque isn't until 7000 rpms and it's running on 100% methanol.

All of this is a compromise in the power band to make the motor live. The exact opposite of what most guys spending big dollars on a nice streetcar/corvette want to do. That engine would be cool in a really light and cheap 1/4 mile race car.

Very interesting, Arun what kinda motor/blower set-up would yous suggest for a GS after having an ECS 1500 w\ ARH & Meth for bigger power?

Forge the stock cubes with a cam-heres an example, forged 347, stock 243 heads, our stage 3 cam-look where the torque peaks.

Not to mention that a 4 second engine dyno pull is not the same as an 8 sec 1/4 mile pass. It's still impressive on a stock bottom end but really doesn't dispel the need for 6 bolt setups. Conservative timing and keeping the RPM's down helps tremendously in keeping the heads down. One of the other major causes of heads lifting in turbo applications is excessive exhaust back pressure which is not typically an issue for the blower guys but is common with so many people running undersized turbines on their big cube V8's.

So Arun your sayin a GS with an ECS Novi 1500 if switched to a YSI headunit, left ls3 stock cubes but forged internals, non ported ls3 heads, and a killer cam will get me to those kinda power #s?

haha. It's not a turbo problem. It's an improperly sized turbo problem.

Here's a pull I did at 18psi. We actually tried to back down the torque. I'm usually closer to 20psi but it threw down 1056rwtq and promptly blew off the tires. I didn't care enough to throw people in the trunk and I already have a graph with 1073rwhp on it but terrible picture lol.

Haha that would be awesome. Win or lose I love putting foot to floor.

Thought it would be interesting to compare my 1000ftlbs at 4200rpm to those blower guys (used to be one).

From a dig I'm not that dangerous as a 6-speed in this car takes a lot to get her out of the hole. I built it to roll out and smash people.
