Default I hate to say it, but I'm going to sell my vette to buy my dream car!

Hey guys in the FI section, well I've finally decided I'm going to do it! I'm going to sell my C6 and buy a GT-R. I was an import guy for years before the vette. But I have drooled/dreamed over the GT-R since the R32. I looked for one for a long time but never found the right one for me.

I recently had the rare experience through work to drive a 2013 GT-R, and was told by Nissan to "drive it like I stole it" on an airfield! The thing had less than 1k miles on it! Lol. Sounds kinda dumb, but it was a life long dream come true!

A few things I learned that day! 1.) launch control is NO JOKE!! 2.) While it would KILL my 700whp C6 off the line, there is NO WAY it would touch it up top! I had the fuel rails off that day so I didn't get to prove it! Lol!

After driving it I just couldn't stop thinking about how much $$$ ($70k ish) I had wrapped up in my C6, and how I could really afford it if I wanted one. So I've decided to just sell the C6 and buy one!

I'm out of town for work until mid march, but as soon as I'm home it's going up for sale. Shortly after I'm buying a 2010, and I'll start modding it right away. 600whp in the first go of mods in a GT-R will run low/mid 10's all day. Long term I'm thinking 800whp+!!!

I love my vette, and the community support here and friends made have been great! I do plan on hanging around even after I get it if you guys don't mind!:P

More to come on my C6 sale once I'm home!

Good luck. Life is short. Enjoy what you want. Even with all the issues I have had with my build it certainly wasn't the cars fault. I'll be hanging on to my C6 for the foreseeable future.

Let us know how things are going and post a few pics.

I can't blame you.... If I could afford to buy a GTR, afford to MOD a GTR and afford to repair it when it breaks (tranny), I'd buy one too.. Can't beat em on the street....especially from a dig..

Congrats on getting your dream car... Most of us never get that opportunity.

Mine would be a lambo and I'd have to sell my house to get one...LOL

Thanks for the kind words. I do feel truly blessed in life. I love lambos as well, but I still like the gtr better. Always have. I couldn't afford the gtr when it came out, but now a few years later it's more than doable! I just got lucky my dream car is sub $100k lol. A good used on is more like $65k-70 now. still not cheap by any means! But I'm young(ish) single, with no kids. So why not?

Lambos are nice, but the one time I saw one in mexico from 40mph it didn't stand a chance against my Vette same with stock GTR's, but I always drool when I see them! Being faster does take the edge off tho!!

Yea they are something else! I'm sure the 14's will be nice too. I don't want to pay $100k for one, and I plan on modding it so I don't care about the warranty. The improvements aren't worth the extra $$$ to me at all. The 2010 is the perfect year to mod IMO. The transmission is probably the best upgraded part in the 14, but I can build the 10's later to run much more power for much less.

So are you buying one as well?

Its for her, she makes all the money. Not sure if she wants the GTR or a 2014 vette. She likes them both.

If money is no option that puts the GTR up against the 2014(15?) ZR1. If she leaves them stock I'd say ZR1, modded GT-R hands down. But if your wife is like my ex she will just buy the one that is prettier! :P

Can't believe how BIG that car is in person. Next to a C6, it looks like an elephant!

I, too, am looking to change my ride. Lookin' for a nice Audi R8.
