Default Pushrod advice

The last thing I need to get for my build is pushrods. I know I want to go to 3/8 size but dont know what brand is best, and/or why.
The Comp Magnum look ok to me and seem reasonable but I would like some advice before I order them.

Any advice or experience out there?

Thanks.

Jody I have been using the Trend pushords for all my builds-just as good as the Comps and there very reasonably priced.

There made from SAE 4130 Chromoly and case hardened to Rc 60.

7.4" in 3/8 diameter are only $105 a set.

Trend makes the pushrods for Comp. Trend, Smith Brothers, and Manton you can't go wrong with all 3. I tend to favor Smith Brothers. They tend to have a lot of stuff in stock, even some odd ball sizes. If you can fit a 3/8 by all means run it. What kind of open springs pressure are you running?

Does that mean the trends and comps are the same ? I don't have the specs in front of me but if I remember right its 420 or 450 open.

Yeah they are pretty much one and the same. a 3/8 .080 wall will be fine for your application.

I'm running smith bros but they we damn pricey. Local shop quoted me $100 then when they showed up it was now $180 or something ridiculous.

That is pricey for pushrods, but in the these builds, 80 bucks doesnt really effect the budget much.

True. But when you are quoted one thing, then the price changes when it shows up, that is an issue. This vendor did that twice to me so I don't do business there anymore. Now I've spent $10k+ at the other local shop and he lost out because of $80 on these and $50 on another part.

You think thats bad, try > three bills for my 3/8" thick-wall Chrysler style pushrods from Smith Bros. The Jesel rockers have ***** on them so the top of the pushrod needs to be a cup. They're nice though.

Going with Trend. 3/8.... .80 wall... more than strong enough for my build.

It's not like you're needing to rev that thing to the moon. With an Eforce and that many cubes, you'll be at max tork when you take your finger off the start button
