Default Any reason not to just get a 10-rib IW balancer when upgrading?

I'm adding an 8" IW balancer and will be running an 8-rib belt with a direct drive. Is there any reason not to just get the 10-rib version of the balancer so I don't have to swap it if I upgrade in the future?

I assume the 10 rib fits without any changes to the steering rack?

Yup..
fits just fine.

im running DP flip drive and 10 rib IW pully.. really overkill since im not spinning the blower hard with a 4" pully, but i figured since it was all apart for the new motor. might as well.

I thought the 10-rib needed spacers for the steering rack.

It looks like it needs to be spaced .25" on a c5... can't find an answer on c6 yet

Dd you use a spacer?

Also, to plan for the future, what did you do about the water pump pulley? It looks like my Ls3 version is only wide enough to handle an 8 rib.

Hmm. I dont think mine has a spacer but i went to the ls7 10 rib since my new motor is dry sump.

Nice... if I remember right, that takes more than a couple rack spacers tho

Don't you have to swap water pumps to do that one? I'm upgrading soon and still just leaning towards 8.0" 8-rib.

At first yes-but now I don't think so. I'll be verifying it soon.
