Any reason not to just get a 10-rib IW balancer when upgrading?
I'm adding an 8" IW balancer and will be running an 8-rib belt with a direct drive. Is there any reason not to just get the 10-rib version of the balancer so I don't have to swap it if I upgrade in the future?

when i went D1 to F1 i moved form 8 rib to 10 rib. might as well, rather safe than sorry.

fits just fine.
im running DP flip drive and 10 rib IW pully.. really overkill since im not spinning the blower hard with a 4" pully, but i figured since it was all apart for the new motor. might as well.

I thought the 10-rib needed spacers for the steering rack.

Also, to plan for the future, what did you do about the water pump pulley? It looks like my Ls3 version is only wide enough to handle an 8 rib.

I went electric waterpump.

Don't you have to swap water pumps to do that one? I'm upgrading soon and still just leaning towards 8.0" 8-rib.
