Default RPM's Todd building an LSX real street Monster!!!!

With the success that we had with our C5 in the LSX series this past season, Todd has decided to join the ranks of the most popular and likely most highly contested class in the LSX series, Real Street. He had already decided to build more of a race car a season ago, and has contemplated several different combinations. Real street was not the first class that he considered. He originally had purchased parts to build a Procharged True street car, and scrapped that idea to possibly turbocharge the car again with a big single turbocharger for True Street as well. However, the racing bug being what it is and him wanting to try his hand at a true heads up class, he has made the leap to build a nitrous inhaling LSX beast to compete in Real Street.
The combination will be very similar to what we have in our red C5 Real Street car, with the exception of a few upgrades in the engine program.
He is starting with a standard deck height RHS block, with some custom machining for roller cam bearings and lifter bushings for the .934 jesel keyed lifters. A Callies Magnum XL crank will swing the GRP aluminum rods and a custom set of JE pistons with all of the custom options that you could think of.... and some you may not! Todd used his expertise in micropolishing to polish his own crank to free up some extra ponies. Obviously the cam specs are a HUGE secret, pun intended. Real Street limits the cylinder heads to inline valve heads only. There are a laundry list of heads for LS engines these days but Todd chose what he felt is the best inline valve head on the market today, Chevrolet Performance Parts DR heads. Filled with Victory Racing titanium valves will be controlled by a set of new Manley springs tall enough to handle the near 1" lift from the bump stick. I told you it was HUGE! With a full compliment of Jesel valvetrain including the belt drive, lifters, pushrods and pro series rocker arms. A dailey engineering dry sump pump will control all of the oiling needs along with a peterson tank.
A Chevrolet Performance DR intake will top off the induction system with an Accufab billet throttle body that could suck in a small bird. We will continue to use Induction Solutions for all of our nitrous needs as they have the best systems on the planet. Fuel and spark will be controlled by a new AEM Infinity system with AEM coils. He also purchased an pair of AEM 4 channel wide bands and a full array of sensors for logging purposes. All the data will coming from one download in the pits for overview will streamline the between round maintenance.
The drivetrain in the car will consist of all of our standard goodies, RPM SFI flexplate and Quicktime bellhousing, Driveshaftshop propshaft and couplers, RPM converter drive plate, Coan torque converter, and RPM custom powerglide with all the options. He is going to be using an RPM C6Z06 3.42 diff with DSS stubs and a set of DSS 1400hp CV axles as well. LG motorsports drag spindles with Strange brakes all the way around will help tame this beast at the top end of the track from the 160+ mph trap speeds.
Safety is a main concern for all of us heading into a racing event like this and its something that we don't take lightly at RPM. Todd has commissioned his car to have a 25.5 spec cage installed an will be finished within the next few days. That along with a fire system and a serious parachute will make sure that Todd is the safest that he can be.

I will keep this thread updated as we progress throughout the build and we will see you at an LSX race near you soon!

We will be using a plate for Real Street. They limit us to a single .082 jet in the plate.

Eventually he will have a direct port kit installed to for running x275 races.

Most people only know RPM build badass drivetrain stuff. Very few know they build the same quality badass street and race cars!

On a side note: Todd are you gonna hire Rodney to run it down the track?

Nouman... he's going to be racing against me in "RealStreet" so we will see who is the better driver. Here is the shop's realstreet car that I will be running next year again. It is a proven class winner running a 8.41 @162 only .004 behind the record pass in our class.

Trust me Todd is going to have a lot more power than what is in the red C5 right now...... Next year will be interseting.

That car has been apart for a while. Working with my father on his Outlaw 10.5 Mustang 632 with two kits.

Once that is done, I'm gonna figure out what I want to do with my race car.
