I don't like running drag radials on the street, so I use a set of RE-11s front & rear (265/35/18 & 305/30/19). They have no chance of traction in first gear, but are pretty good in 2nd and dead hook in 3rd. This is a centri car with ~690 whp.

A drag radial will hook better, but I'm not sure what you give up in overall balance and handling if you're into that thing. I have a set of 17" Hoosier drag radials on C5 Z front wheels that I use at the strip, but I don't like to run them on the street.

I have Toyo R888s and they hold their own for being a street tires. 18" up front 19" in the rear. And I run a 17" Hoosier for a drag radial and they obviously do better being a drag radial. Both are good, it really depends if you're looking for a tire just for the track or what.

I haven't had any issues with them. My car isn't a daily but I drive it a good 2-3 times a week. I have been caught in the rain before and I just slow down. Great tire for sure. I recently added some suspension so R888's would be a lot of fun now cause the mt's aren't for taking turns.

Just one opinion here....I don't think there is a tire available now, nor is there one on the drawing board, that will grip great in a straight line and also in a corner. Straight line grip takes a softer/taller sidewall. Corner grip takes a stiffer sidewall. Both need softer compounds at the contact point with the pavement. One tire that does it all just ain't happnin'.

R888 does both better than any other dr bc it's ment for road course but serves well as a low treadwear tire for traction

I have a set of 305/30 19 R888's and they are much better than runflats in a straight line and also way better in the corners. Also have a set of MT 295/45 17 DR's. WAY better from a dig. I think they have more traction in the water box than the R888's do on dry pavement. However, the MT's, with air pressure at 16psi, are just flat scary during a quick change in direction. Different tires for different tasks.

Yep the R888 is the best for both. Not best for optimum drag performance but sticky enough to give a good amount of traction and then as a road course tires its great.

Maybe, maybe you haven't heard about the HOOSIERS R6, they do both, very good tire for 600rwhp, it hooks like glue and corner like a baby, but in hot whether.

I have run Hoosier DR's, BFG DR's, Hoosier R-6's, and now am on R888's on the street. The R888's are the best compromise I've found, GREAT for cornering, pretty good for straight line work. And, unlike the R-6's have a tread pattern which will keep you off the walls when it rains. They won't allow full throttle with nitrous in first gear.

I did exactly this... re-11's are the winter tire... GREAT in the rain... but traction is a joke until third. even second is a probelm for me....also the 305/30/19's WILL set off your traction control so that will need to be turned off for normal driving even (or at least on my car)

MT DR are the summer tire and they are FANTASTIC in a straight line... I can hook first .... just dont have great handling.

I have 655rwhp/630rwtq

Does anybody know how much difference in tire diameter can be tolerated on a C6.

Is it possible to use BFG 275-40-17 drag radials on the back of my C6 at the track?

275/40/17 is probably one of the most common tires used

If I were to drive with them to the track would I have problems with the traction control being that they are an inch smaller than the stock tires?

The reason I ask is that I have a set that I used on my C4 and it would be nice if I could use them on my C6 as well.

What size would one reccomend for a 19X12 grandsport wheel as I dont see the standard 325-30-19 listed for the R888?
