Yes indeed. I'll be fine with the small shot, but once I go to the 150, I'll be out of gear before the finish line with the 275/40-17s. I knew this going in so I'll just use the tires I have now until I upgrade the fueling system.

How's your car doing shawn?
It's still scootin along at ~600rwhp...fun and manageable for the street. Haven't been to a dragstrip in ages, but going to visit the road course again probably later this month.

Very nice set-up! That looks like a very lite weight battery you got there, what band is it? If you don't mine me asking.

Thanks!

Thanks. Battery is very small/lightweight at ~17lbs. This is what it looked like before I wrapped it in the thermal paper. I ordered it online only to find out that it was available locally at Autozone.

That looks like a D680 sized battery, I have the XS power version in the Z and we have the Lithium one in the Turbo Stang (4 lbs).

With a hard line install you can add bends to the system to slow down the hit, with the SS braid you are stuck with the hose length and not much changes there.

When are you heading to the track with it?

I picked up some wheels (painting them now) MT drag radials, HP tuners, and a A&A kit. Going to switch to E85 first and make some runs like that, hopefully that will curb the 6 degrees timing being pulled on my 1/4 mile passes and I get some decent NA 1/4 mile passes. One side note I went with the new Lunati valve spring package with the cam install and now 1000 miles later have oil smoke on start up. My investigation shows 3 valve stem seals with broken retention springs, I have a friend at Lunati and he is checking on the problem, until then it looks like Sanford and Son firing up every so often . Whomp whomp whamp wonnn.....

Mine has always smoked on first startup for the first 2 or 3 minutes. I was told it's normal and as long as it doesn't smoke constantly that I shouldn't worry about it.

I went to the track on Saturday but didn't have anything too glorious to report. I made 5 passes total with 4 of them being on the bottle(100 shot)

Best of the night on motor was 11.6@126
Best of the night on bottle was 10.9@135

60 foot was a poor 1.89 for both runs and I was obviously rusty with my launch. It was also the first real time I've been out on the new clutch and rear end setup with the correct 275/40-17 Mickeys so I've got to relearn how to launch this thing.

My buddy Steve put together a video of the runs though. I do like how the car sounds.

Eh, thank you. I went a slew of 10 sec passes on motor alone last year with my best being a 10.67@129. That was also on stock clutch and stock rear. I have a long way to go to get back in the swing of things.

Justin, you will get there. As many 1.4-1.5 60ft's that you have cut on motor alone, it won't take you long. I hope that you are not experiencing any on/off clutch issues since I know you can drive the wheels off a 6 speed vette.

Can you post your time slip of the 10.9 run on the bottle? That is the same trap speed that I ran with my blower when my car was stock, and I'd like to see the rundown.

Oh I'm not discouraged. It was my first time out in the new combo with a new clutch, rear, and a bottle to boot. Not to mention, they scraped the track a few weeks ago so it's an ice skating rink out there. I was going to run this weekend but I have a sneaking suspicion that I might have broken the tensioner. . . details to come

Picking up 9mph on a 100 shot is not too shabby

Ya, it picked up considerably less on the smaller shot, but I had a lot more timing pulled than was necessary when i put in the smaller pills.

But oh what a pass it would be, like horizontal fireworks . Ooohhhh, awwwww, ouuucccchhh !

Glad to hear you figured out the tension deal, my engine didn't have one of those (no the other guys didn't leave it out ) just had the chain and it was very tight and a pain to get on like most aftermarket ones are.

Blower showed up today but I haven't gotten out to look at it, installing the 85lb injectors next week and retuning for the corn, will run it on the drag radials like that while I sort out and clean up the blower stuff.
