Default Roger's TVS2300 Magnuson build thread

just a quick rundown of what is currently done to the car. It has a hurt bottom end at the moment and I intend on going crazy on the rebuild. First I thought I would get everyone a rundown of what is currently in the car befor I just start tearing it apart again.

(getting ready for a new hood to clear the charger, and repainting the front bumper to get rid of chips)

(hood installed and ready for teardown and first build almost a year ago)

(borla multicore exhaust)

(driveshaft shop level five axles and shafts)

(Pfadt racing drag level 2 suspension)

(Pfadt poly motor and trans mounts)

(torque tamer torque tube brace)

(Borla long tube headers no cats)

(upper trans diff brace..lower looks identical)

(pfadt bolt in chromoly cage)

(charger installed)

(MGW short throw shifter)

(cryo hardened case level 4 RPM trans)

(Pfadt carbon fiber drive shaft)

(first set of 3 piece wheels)

(first time on the rollers 4th gear pull)

(nitto drag radials stance)

(new wheels)

(thats my truck as well behind it )

(14 rib overdriven rear pulley with tentsioner....just to give an idea where the new motor is headed)

Roger your car looks totally awesome! I love your hood! How much power is your car putting down and at how much boost? How do you like the TVS?
I am dropping off my TVS2300 supercharged ls3 c6 at ECS tomorrow to add methanol injection and a blower cam! Can't wait!

Thanks for sharing and great pics

Thanks man!

The car made 600hp and 610ftp to the wheels on 6psi headers, x pipe, and exhaust. no cam just bolt on supercharger kit.

it made over 500ftp to the wheels at 1800rpm in 4th gear!
as for what i think about the magnuson. i absolutetly love it. its like driving a high hp naturally aspirated car. no lag and revs as fast as a motorcycle.

I plan on squeezing every bit of boost out of mine that I can.

Big Blower Cam
solid stainless exhaust valves
Callies Dragon Slayer Crank
Callies I beam rods
Diamond custom pistons 9:5:1
total seal rings
coated bearings
10% overdriven keyed 10 rib serpentine system
14 rib 10% over driven rear blower pulleys
2.75" 10 rib front drive pulley
house of boost eliminator fuel system
injector dynamics 88# injectors
aeromotive rails and custom return style fuel system
and I am sure I am leaving out some minor details

Hopefully your not waiting 8+ months for the dragonslayer like I did.

Looks like a great build. I can't wait to see it complete.

Wow brother! You are really going to push that TVS! Can't wait to see your results! When are you planning on completing these mods? What rwhp are you shooting for?

I'm shooting for that mythical 1000whp mark, when in reality 800 would be more than I would ever need in a street-mexico run car lol

They didn't do anything. No promised time and they have 40 people lining up for it if I decided to go with the lunati. If they dont have one ready I would suggest getting the lunati.

Check out "Ray@RDS" on the Camaro5 board. He makes a phenolic spacer that insulates the blower from the engine as well as increasing the area around the intercooler. Boost goes down as power goes up with this mod. Depending on your hood, you may or may not have room. It raises the blower 1/2 to 3/4". 800 rwhp is doable. 1000? Now that's going to be a tough order.

Scoggin is who is assembling my engine, they claimed to have everything needed to build my engine but the pistons because I wanted 9:5:1 compression.

just fyi they are a distributor for most all of the vendors on here and have one of the biggest parts inventorys in the U.S.
http://sdparts.com/

which made things easy for me because I call one person if I want a lingenfelter intake and mass air
or a kateck oil pump, (forgot to add that in my list earlier)
or my double roller timing set,
all these parts they have in stock and will ship the same time as my engine so I save on shipping!

what kind of a IAT difference did it make? also thanks for the info. the hood clearence would be an issue i think. I had to file the nose of the charger on the raised magnuson logo to keep it from rubbing the paint on the underside of the hood already haha.

I'd sure bump that compression ratio up to 10.5-11:1. You don't have an unlimited amout of blower capacity. Venture over to the ZR1 page and see what those guys do for less than spectacular results. Overdrive crank pulleys and itty bitty snout pulleys. They spin the snot out of the same blower you're using and are stuck in the low 700's best I can tell. Low compression takes a **** load of boost to make power. As long as you have a big blower and/or a couple of turbos, it's great. You don't have that luxury

IAT's did go down a significant amount. I'm in the same boat as you hood wise. May have to check into a different hood. I have a Maggie TVS on my daily driver Chevy truck. I'm sure I'll try it on that one first.
