Default How many 6 rib 'flip-drive'/'direct-drive' options are there?

I'm just curious what flip-drive/direct drive options there are these days. I've seen the Cartek one that is posted in this section, but I've also read posts about a Dallas Performance setup. I can find any pictures or info on it though.

I have a ProCharger D1SC kit with the latest bracket setup and I'm looking to run a ~4" pulley (~12psi?)

Its identical to the Cartek piece.

The downside to the flip drive, now you have your: AC, Alternator, power steering all being driven off a small 6 rib. The belt gets upset if tension isnt correct, and the belt isnt fresh.

I had the other way around happen to me. I threw the 8 rib off at the track and was able to drive thanks to the 6 rib running all accessories lol. Before when I would tear a belt off I was just stuck.

PS Yes I had an electric water pump.

I would also like to know any differences. I was going to order one today, but at lunch a buddy told me to research carefully. There were some issues on belt alignment. I don't want to have any issues with the belts. Any more information out there?

They are similar but not the same, I know the bearings are different but I do not have first hand experience with both so I can not say defintively what the actual differences are.

Actually its 4 rib driving the 6rib. If I remember correctly on WOT the A/C clutch disengages so it's free wheeling right..

They are not identical, the DP piece is engineered much better imho, the jack shaft bearing design and the tensioner design just to name the two that stand out most...

Here is my DP direct drive. No issues so far. 774rwhp/738rwtq, on a 6 rib belt and stock balancer. I plan on pushing it a bit further, maybe low 800's on blower and then spray. I haven't experienced any belt slip that I know, and it has worked great. (My pics show an 8 rib balancer, but it is fubar, and was replaced with a stock c6 balancer).

For someone who doesn't know what they are looking at, sure.

For someone who does, it is a great looking Dallas Performance direct drive.

I think I'm going to push the 6 rib to see how much power I can make with it. 6rib belt+YSI soon.

Hey Steve,
The Dallas Performance version is called the "direct drive" and the Cartek version is the "flip drive".

I agree, but they work on the same principle. I'm pretty sure Steve fully understands this. I often call mine a "flip drive" even though it is a "direct drive".
