If you look in the NHRA rule book there are pictures of how they built my cage. The rules for how to account for an aluminum frame were written off my car.

I have a 25.3 cage and there are special steps that have to be taken, but I wouldn't want to take those away from the guys that planned those out.

If you want a cage built in a real Z06, call Holt Race cars or IPSMotorsports.net and they can get you set up with a NHRA legal cage.

Mark, did you replace your street car with another corvette as yet or are you waiting for the C7? As soon as you do, it will start all over again, first you do enough for the guys on the street and as soon as someone is a little faster you end up starting a complete new project until it become a race car, its a sickness and maybe the wife can probably have the cure by putting a lock to the bank account or walking away with the kids. lol

No joke. The cost of a ZR1 looks like a roll of Charmin compared to the build of a 6 or 7 second car.

Not sure if you know about it, but I have had a twin turbo 5th gen Camaro Street car... It is actually my wife's car. I recently bought her the new convertible and we are in process of moving "HER" twin turbo kit over to the new car. She has no issues with my car and what I have done with it, probably because she doesn't have to suffer for my racing hobby.

As for me, I am not waiting for any car.... I don't have a "sickness" as you put it, and I don't build car after car. This car progressed because we kept reaching for new goals and because my sponsors wanted more and have helped me reach for more.

My intentions are to be the fastest IRS car in the world. If I can't, I will have a great time trying.

BTW, the wife's car isn't really a "race" car... although I have tracked it from time to time. The car doesn't have and never will have drag radials. We keep street tires on the car, because it is and always will be a street car.

Opinionated – a person (often a bore if they go on and on) who speaks as if their opinions are facts rather than mere beliefs. Being opinionated is incompatible with other people having different opinions
