Would like a TX mile guess w/ my setup
Not going to make the Oct 2011 event so it will be March 2012 before I get to go back but I was hoping a few of you guys could help me guess about what my car should run in the mile. Last march I did 166.3 totally stock with just a tune from ECS(08 vette auto6, stock runflat tires and 2.56 rear gears) Since I have added a magnacharger so I hoping for around 525-550 RWHP and the runflats will be replaced with a non runflat tire. Any guesses what she will run this time???

Bone stock ZR1's run the mile in low to mid 180's with about the same rwhp as you're talking. Don't know how the gear ratios in an A6 compare to the Z's tranny though. Probably going to depend on the difference between 4th and 5th gears. If you have a TVS Maggie, that will help keep the IAT's reasonable.

What is the theoretical max in 5th gear with your rear-end ratio and the A6 5th gear ratio? I'm estimating high 170's *if* your gear ratio allows you that MPH in 5th somewhere near (within 800 RPM's) of your torque peak (with your RWHP numbers)....

Yes, stock ZR1's do low 180's, but that is with great conditions. The ZR1 gearing is going to be much better than an A6 for a 1 mile pass, IMO. Again, I'll say 175 if you don't have a major headwind.

I have never seen a stock C6 run 166 mph. Did you have a big tailwind???
My '06 A6 made 550 rwhp the last time it was on a dyno (see sig for mods).
I've been to the TX Mile with my Magnuson M112/A6 car many times.
I was told by the "experts" how the M112 would not do well at these events and I was wasting my time.
My car has always run very similar mph as other FI corvettes (with the same hp).
My last trip to the mile resulted in a best of 184 mph when (2) stock ZR1s were in the 181-183 range. Stock C6s were running 157-160. This was with 0 wind. Every other time I've been to the mile, there has been a headwind and I would run 175-180. I finally made a pass with 0 wind ( I was the 3rd or 4th car to run that morning). I ran 182 later in the day with a slight headwind.
Conditions play a huge role in your numbers. I know several people that have run artificially high mph because of big tailwinds (which they don't always divulge). The day after I ran 182-184, they had a pretty good tailwind (I had already left). My friend picked up 5 mph. You have to take weather into account. I thought my car should be capable of 180-185 without help from Mother Nature. I was finally able to make a couple of passes with no wind to prove it.
What I am trying to say after all of this is:
Your car (at 525-550 rwhp) is capable of 180+.......it all depends on the weather.
BTW: Be sure your A6 will shift correctly under WOT, mine had to be tuned. Also, run the car in S mode and let it shift itself. The A6 does well at standing mile events.
Good luck..........

My numbers were with stock gear ratios.........I've had the shift points adjusted because the trans could not shift fast enough (it hit the rev limiter in every gear). I let the A6 shift itself and cross the line in 5th.

Nice...........that's the highest mph I've seen for a stock C6.
