Looks pretty normal to me too but I'd like to hear some more opinions.

Even I have a sick feeling in my stomach from this. I'm sure John feels worse. To put together a build like this and end up with these results is disappointing to say the least.

The dyno numbers don't mean a whole lot when you don't include the engine and cam specs.

My little heads/cam 347 puts down about the same figures as you.

It has a stock 347, Cartek Stage 2 Heads and cam, Kooks Headers, Varram Intake. Manual transmission.

Your numbers aren't bad and it's my guess that you're running lower compression because you were boosted.

Would be nice if you posted up engine specs. Seems to me that the motor is working as it is suppose to.

Thanks for posting up the engine info. I guess it's time to look at the blower set-up and see what's up.

I hate to say it but I'm thinking cut your losses (as deep as they are) and slap an E-Force on there.

Well I know of a Corvette that had one of these superchargers done, it had some issues on the LS3 but eventually ran well. I think it took about a year for that build with other things being done.... A different supercharger set up and a 427 build was made to do 1000whp like the dragon car does. That took nearly 20 months to do I believe. Car still has some quarks but it hits about 10lbs of boost and is much faster then my bolt on LS2.

So just put in the time months I would guess at a minimum and you should have some decent rewards. The whipple idea is great just seems something is holding it back.

Good luck keep us posted.

WOW, thanks for posting up pictures!! I am at a loss for words. Is this really the second manifold that they sent the customer. The one that was "new and inproved" over the first one that was damaged in shipping?

That's a shame. Looks like a proto type that still needs work. Doesn't look to be capable of big air flow either.

Those #'s are actually strong N/A for those engine specs.

Well there you go. Wow. Just Wow. Aside from the warping and cracked welds I can't get over how small the intake ports are.

Wow....I just looked at the pics. I was *******this******** close to buying one of these. I had multiple conversations with Peter, and had decided to buy one. At the last minute, I decided I like N/A better and wanted to stay N/A.

Best of luck to the OP. At least you are in good hands now. I would just give the keys to Va Speed and tell them what you want. Send that Sunday Newspaper Maze back to Dragon and get a refund.

I believe you found the restriction is. Those air vanes/blades are really holding that blower back.

As for the welds and quality of craftsmanship... we all start not knowing a damn thing however thinking you can weld like Marcella and actually doing it are two different things. It definitely needs work.

Well, at this point, I would like to know why they did it that way cause I'm at a lose. I would never send out a part like that, even if the business was running itself into the ground. (not saying this is the case)

... wow.

that is just plain SAD!! I would take a plane and drop that POS brick from 30,000 feet right on top of Dragon headquarters

This should be the END of dragon..what company on earth does this to someone????

JOHN get you money back NOW and put a Vortech or ECS S/c and end this BS .. you will make 800whp and enough power to run 9s all day

you have tried to be a hero and hold out for something diffrent.. but enough is enough..

Don't you think you're being a bit drastic? People make mistakes but that doesn't warrant anyone to wish anything bad on what some people rely for a paycheck every two weeks. Live and learn.

Those pictures still don't explain this:

How did the blower perform so much better on this setup? Yes its a slightly bigger engine and it has better heads, but we are talking about a couple hundred HP difference here...

I confess that I do not know what I am looking at, but the bad welds are obvious, even to me. I once suggested that the correct course of action was to send the whole car to Dragon, but I rescind that suggestion. Despite their prototype and some good comments, I don't think I could trust them now. There is a difficult decision to be made and I am sorry that John has to make it. Reminds me of the movie "Money Pit".

Wow I'd love to see the CFD on that, those vanes and intake ports are horrifying. I'm sorry to see things ended up this way after following this thread, I've been dying to see an angry 'Vette sporting a 3.3l Whipple. Its just not going to happen with that manifold.

You're an engineer, right? I'll give you a clue. We were seeing 20 lbs of boost. See if you can't figure it out from there.
