Default What do you use for Meth/Alky fuel

Hey everyone, I picked up my first vette a couple months back (previous camaro owner) and I am looking into FI. I am toying with the idea of meth injection as well, so that I can get just a little extra boost. I am wondering what people use for meth, has anyone used windshield washer fluid? I have heard people say a 40/50 mix blue non detergent windshield washer fluid is perfect, but I don't know if that's a crappy fuel. Do most of you order or purchase straight meth in your area, or use alcohol? Let me know what you use and where you get it from, thanks!

100% methanol VP Fuels M3, it is the best you can buy for a street car, it is the only methanol offered with additives that guard against bore washing... ECS has done all of the research for us... we get to benefit from their publicly shared data, through much testing... sounds like you are off to a good start, methanol is a must with F.I. imho...

M3 has the additives. That is what they are running. I have made the switch as well.

Run whatever your builder tuned the car with.

I'm not certain but I suspect it's a hazardous chemical to transport in containers.

Maybe a stupid question ---- but for us that slept through chemistry class

What is the difference between Methanol an Ethanol ? Could you replace Methanol in this application with Ethanol ?

ethanol has an extra carbon and 2 hydrogens making it a bigger molecule, and releases more energy when it combusts, im not sure how it stacks up to methanol for cooling but ive heard that 50/50 water meth has great cooling abilities

Last month, I tried to order it direct from VP and they are willing to sell it. $38.00 for a 5 gallon pail and $114.00 more to deliver it. OUCH. If you ordered a 30 gallon drum, shipping was the same and only a marginal price break per gallon for the volume purchase.

Do you run through it very fast? I would probably be running progressive and not start injection until 5lb or so. I'd imagine as long as I am not constantly into the gas it will last me pretty long. I just have no idea at all as I know no one who runs meth or alky

It takes me about 3 tanks of gas from normal driving to go through a washer tank of M3. I am sure it would go a lot faster if I was deep in boost, because I have an aggressive ramp.
