Default ECS YSI Kit on '06 Z06 with a Zr1 Cam & LSX Block!

This customer came to us a few years back to install a base 1500 package on his 2006 Z06... At that time the car put down about 625 with headers. Wanting more power, he came back to ECS for meth and a retune and left with about 740 hp to the tire, which was good for 10.5's 1/4 quarter miles, on street tires, during his first trip to the drag strip.

We just finished fitting the car with an ECS YSI Kit, an GMPP LSx and a Zr1 cam, to give it great driveability, and a awesome idle...

20 psi, later the car lays down 911 RWHP on our dynapack dyno and over 800 lbs/ft of torque on 93 octane and meth. This is on the street tune, with mild timing and plenty of room to grow, but the NT05's are begging for mercy at this point!!!

Here's the Dynos!!!

911.3 RWHP / 814.3 RWTQ

More to come!!!!

Not up on the YSI's. Are those comparable to the 2200 Paxtons?

And dyno graphs are nice and all, but VIDEO is where it's at.

Awesome!

Is that a 427 CI engine? @ 20 PSI I would have expected it to crack 1,000 RWHP - even with such a small camshaft! That's really interesting!

Nonetheless, 900 RWHP is enough to stomp most anythign on the street! and all the while on PUMP gas!!!

The point of the build was not for peak numbers, but an effortless and endless power feeling, which I think was achieved pretty well with near stock characteristics to boot.

The high boost can be attributed to such a small cam for the package, if it had a larger cam, boost would drop accordingly.

The car is on a very conservative tune right now, and we plan to keep it that way while on pump gas and catalytic converters in place. I could have pushed more as it was, but that's not how I feel comfortable letting the car leave the shop for street use so whats the point. Once the engine is broken in some more, and the owner gets used to the car, I will make him a race fuel tune that can and will certainly break the 1k mark without a problem.

Then of course the question is.. what to do with over 1k RWHP? Well lets just say the C6Z track guys better have any bugs worked out!!
But the car will not be tracked until the end of the season if at all, that's up to the owner, and I believe for a while, he just wants to enjoy his car.

We'll post up the build sheet when Mike has some video for you shortly, but this is our base kit with the head unit upgrade, no other drive systems needed, our stage 2 quiet fuel system, and 100% ZO6. Nothing sacrificed.

The YSI is a race style blower, oil fed, and can out flow the 2200, the down side is the noise though, they are fairly loud compared to the 2200.

vid coming (Mike works very slow..)

Mike

We actually offer our C5 and C6 kit with any head unit Paxton/Vortech being first choice, and ATI's up to an F2.

The only head units we have chosen not to offer is the Novi 1200/Si trim, because it comes with a smaller bearing assy, that we feel cannot keep up with the demand of the Corvette TQ. We simply had too many failures with them unfortunately, but a great head unit for lesser powered vehicles.

But we might have some some news from Paxton about a larger head unit coming here for testing... (but you didnt hear that from me)

Nope, the blower we are working on will be a race blower.. The 2200 will still be our first choice for the street

Actually it would not fit in the C6 anyway, it is utilising the Novi 2000 gear box which is too large for the C6. It is supposed to flow roughly what the YSI does, so for the C6 we would just use that instead.

Very nice....

I'm almost tempted by a smaller cam myself, maybe the Lingenfelter GT9. Although the lift it has scares me lol

If you dont mind, how fast are you spinning the YSi ?
