Default What roll bar? 4 or 5 point for 9,99-11,49 sek?

I’m working on getting ready for next summer drag race. What are minimum things to do to be able to run 10´@140mph as far as safety rolls? Most roll bars you can purchase are 4 point is that legal on the track.

Thanks.

For an NHRA or IHRA sanctioned track, you must have a door bar on the drivers side, so a five point would be your minimum to run to 10.0

If you're going to race in Iceland, you need to get the technical requirements from your local race organizers or sanctioning body. How many dragstrips are there in Iceland, anyways? For tht matter, how many Z06s?

If you're going to bring it to the US to race, then you need to follow the requirements spelled out in the NHRA rulebook. You can order a rulebook from NHRA headquarters.

The easiest way to do this is to work with a shop that is experienced in making these cars legal for drag racing. They can work you through the pitfalls and either supply what you need, or point you to the proper suppliers. One shop off the top of my head that can probably do this is East Coast Superchargers.

We have 2 C5 Z06 and 1 C6 Z06 in Iceland (mine is C6 2005 Z51 with lots of moods) We have one drag strip and IHRA is used for safety. I was not planning to turn the car in to drag car but I would like to be able to take some runs. What about axels? Bulletproofed bell house is that needed? There lots of Corvette on the forum running 10 sek and may look stock to me.

You would need a full cage to be able to run over 135mph..

A lot of the guys with sub-11.5 cars and no roll cage have to race on private track rentals. If you go that fast on a regular race night it's one-run-and-done; they kick you out. If you do it more than once you may well be permanently banned from that track.

But a private track rental is just that, and, depending on the track, the safety rules for a track rental may be quite a bit looser. If you see a guy posting up videos of a 9 second run and no roll cage that's almost certainly how it was done.

For some reason I have to use 128mph to get a safe trap at 133.5. My track will boot for 135, so it can run up to 134.9mph, but I haven't pushed it. BTW, I run 26" ET street.
