Default Turbo or Super charger?

I have a 2009 C6 LS3 automatic trans looking for the best way to get to 600whp Turbo or super charger?

Will the stock automatic trans hold up ?

That was before the improved intake that now comes with the kit!
I'm over 600 easy now and with 390 gears. It's SUPERFAST,
Plus I have 17k on the original belt. Just checked my IN TOWN

Its your first post on CF. You should make a cup of coffee and spend a couple of hours doing some reading on your own. You will get many different opinions and make an educated decision on your own. All the basic difference are discussed many time over. When you get a handle on the basics you'll be better off.

the tranny will last to 600 rwhp if your nice to it. I twisted an internal shaft at 560 rwhp and an improper tune. I had my tranny rebuilt be rpm and they did my dif at the same time giving it a 3.15 ratio. Now the car is wild. I love the ecs sc kit that i got with a livernoise cam, ported intake and tb and kooks headers. the problem with twin turbos is they cost alot more, but they make a good set up if the price is not important.

ECS centri kit all the way. Check my numbers. All problem free, car runs like stock and their kit has room to grow. Give Doug or Chris a call @ ECS, they will hook you up with great customer service and an awesome kit.

I'm going to say that majority of the opinions you get are going to be biased. Again, majority, not all. The reason I say that is because majority of the people here have superchargers, with few being turbo charged. With that said, majority of the supercharger owners are centri, so you're going to get that answer most. You're going to need to do some research and really see what best suits you.

I tried them all, high CR motors and centrifugals work nicely

i would guess that if the majority of the cars are supercharged with centi sc's because thats the most popular. Now you just have to ask your self why.

Thanks for the feadback,

so far it seems Supercharger is the most popular esp if all you want is under 600whp .
In talking to a distrib that sells both says super charger is lower maintainance cost and smoother more controled power. So far leaning to Super.

Call A&A Corvette or ECS, a supercharger is a great and proven way to go!

It's more common, because it's cheaper and much easier to install.

They both have their advantages and disadvantages.

Pretty much any FI system can get the job done. The more important decision is finding a reliable shop to do the install and tune.

centrifugal superchargers and high compression engines - as I mentioned work really good.

Boost kicks in where volumetric efficiency of the engine lowers, boost is linear, power delivery is linear.

The new Vortech superchargers are WHISPER quite, and do not need tapping the oil pan for oil, those things make big power and are VERY efficient.

On a car with NO space restrictions like a truck, id go turbo, but not on the vette.
