the amount that your shooting for is probley enough to justify some beefin up.. level IV-V tranny and III-IV for the diff.

Yea but what if I keep it around 800 850 rwhp for now and no power shifting and no hard launches

Just rolling starts what would they hold before failure from brute torque?

I snapped the output shaft clean off on my 07 MN6 last summer. This was on the street with the run crap tires and only 570RWHP. Anything can happen.

broke my sh*tty 2005 rearend at a little over 400rwhp, and then after we beefed it up all was fine until 700rwhp, and that was the magic number for stock tranny, and more rearend issues... so I'd say you are on borrowed time, drive'r hard till she breaks...

You should be fine bro. If your thinking about replacing something, replace the diff. output shafts and half shafts.

Thats what I did. Can't make them amy stronger, just shift smoother. You can also put the stiff diff mounts on.

Wouldnt the cushion better or does it cause it to distort? Who makes the stiff or solid mounts?

What part of your stock tranny broke? Was it a T56 or TR6060? And what have you done to it to support your new 800rwhp.

I've got a stock z51 TR6060 using a hardened mainshaft running to a zr1 differential. I'm wondering how well the tranny is going to hold up, especially with the z51 gears.

I just upgraded from the stock 05 trans & diff to a Z06 set-up @ 650 WHP. I'll let you know if something goes bad.

I've upgraded the trans mounts to harder stuff, and replaced the suspension to Pfadt Coilovers in hopes of eliminating the chance of wheel hop.

I hope this holds up for a while. At the very least, it's far better than the stock 05 stuff...

No wheel hop. It broke in 1st gear from a roll at a stop light. It's wasn't a Z06 trans. It's a T56. I went with an RPM Stage 5 and haven't had any problems since.

A Tremec T56 is what IS in a 06 Z. Just has some beefed up internals over a stock T56......

Nice to hear your problems are done. What kind of power are you making now?

Oops. You're right. I'm only making 570RWHP. I had the trans installed at RPM last spring and had them do the hardened single piece axles on both sides while everything was apart. Rodney personally disassembled and re assembled my diff. I still have the stock LS7 clutch so I was really surprised I broke anything in the first place. That clutch grabs pretty well actually.

I am probably going to do a RPS triple carbon carbon, ZR1 trans and diff with hardened axles. It's big bucks though - figure $15k

I just about went the same way with the zr1 differential, DSS axles, and RPS triple carbon clutch.

The only difference is I'm just using my stock TR6060 z51 transmission with a hardened mainshaft. We'll see how that holds. Not sure if I'd go to the zr1 diff if it fails, but I'm not sure what my other options are next to an automatic conversion.

If you are going to go all out like that, you might as well strengthen your driveshaft too.
