Default Those w/ high HP cars: How are your axles holding up?

Those with high HP cars (800-1000rwhp+), how are your axles holding up?

I have a build in progress and we are going to aim for around 900rwhp. I'm debating on whether to upgrade to the DSS 300m axles.

What do you think? How many of you have broken yours, and those of you with the DSS axles, how are they working for you?

Now this is depending on your application, I has an automatic C5 making big power, I also has the stock rear with the Harden output shalfs, I hav never broke an axle on my C5, although it was said that the C5 axles are the best, I also installed a set of C5 axles on my C6 with 700RWHP and broke it, My friend with his 08 broke about 2 axles, he is now running the C5 axles but is not getting on it as he use to.
The DDS axles are strong, I installed those on my C6 M6 and it is holding very good, I had make a few passes and it seem as if it will take the abuse, there is a problem I had with it, and thats the axle bolts to the CV joint next to the rear, after having it installed for a couple months I noticed I was smelling oil, I check everything until I found out it was the axle splashing grease onto the exhaust, had to take the axles out and have it repac and reseal. Just check to make sure the axles are seal properly around the joining by the rear end.

Thanks. I have a C6 M6. Sounds hit or miss on the stock axles. Not sure I want to take the chance of being stranded. Did DSS fix the problem for you under their 1 year warranty?

I was making 680-700 rwhp and made two passes at the strip power shifting and a fair amount of street driving as well with that setup. I also dont beat the car hard launching and shifting unless im at the strip either so. But havent had a failure on them yet after my first one broke when I was stock from wheel hop and power shifting

Automatics are easier on parts....with a standard an upgrade would be appropriate...especially with 800Hp plus.
From what I have seen anyway.

The one year warranty is nice but in a situation like mine, I would have to take the axles out and ship it to them, then wait on their time to have it repaired and ship back to me which can be up to two weeks, so I R&R the axles myself and resealed it in les than 2hrs.

I don't think abuse breaks them, its if your car hooks good, the power do the breaking, I've seen a few breaked at the track, I did it once and I also broke the output shalf once and even the main shalf from the Z51 transmission to the rear, it snaped like paper on the street. A good clutch and a good set of tires makes the weak point collapse.

DSS axles are expensive, but I like the 1 year warranty so that I can give them a beating and see if they keep on ticking...

Have you beefed up the differential? I would worry about that before the axles. I'm a little over 800 and I recently changed out the diffy to an RPM Stage 3 and C5 axles just for peace of mind.

Sorry to piggyback on the thread, I know this is asking for more RWHP for axles, but at 600RWHP has anyone seen issues that low down? Should I be worried with 600?

Not sure if "worried" would be the correct word but anything can happen when the tires don't spin.
