Default oil leak?? not sure

My 2006 a6 cpe procharged, I saw a drip trail up the driveway which caught my eye. Today I backed out of the garage pausing while waiting for the door to close, as I moved back that's when I saw a puddle that appears it came from the right front of the motor area. I quickly pulled back in and shut down. Got to go to work. A quick look the best I could, I saw some drips on the concrete under the area right front. Will have to put on the ramps for a closer look. I am asking for any thoughts as to what you may think I should look for. At first thought it was the oil filter but I think that's located left rear side of the motor. I don't run the car hard. Have 34,500 miles. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thanking you in advance.

Did you do a cam with the procharger? When I changed my cam, I had a oil leak afterwards due to a bad crank seal that was pinched during the install. But, you would have to remove the timing cover to have any effect on this seal...pinning the crank should not have hurt it.

Are you running a self lubricated unit, or did you have to install some oil lines? Could have issues there.

Good luck finding the leak!

All the street Procharger units are self contained now, no oil lines, though look at all the plugs around the head unit to see if they're dripping.

Are you sure it's oil? It could be power steering fluid or engine coolant from that area under the hood. Best bet is too jack it up in the air and get under there with a flash light and find out.

No cam change, I did look at the oil dip stick and all looked well. I will check the power steering unit. Did not think to check another obvious source. The appearance of the puddle seemed oily and transparent. Thanks to all for the response. Crossing my fingers.

I have a procharger on mine and I have a little amount of red looking clear oil coming from the right front, kind of under the procharger area.. I cannot find anything myself. It is red.. I use redline oil.. no clues here, let me know if you find what it is!

You may want to look or feel around the head unit itself, and check plugs that may be leaking. I'm not sure if Procharger has this, but my V3 Vortech unit is self contained, and there's a plug that has a vent on it to keep from any pressure building up in the unit. Mine, when slightly over filled with fluid, would burp out just a little out of this vented plug. Not sure if Procharger has this, so I would check it out.

Do you have an automatic? The lines Auto Fluid line connections are on the passenger side of the radiator. Its a red fluid.

Yes I have an A6 and the fluid is red. BigMay60, you may have hit it. Lots of plumbing around there and was hard to tell what is what. Going to flatbed it to the speed shop and have them take care of a couple other issues while there. I sent them pix,so they may already suspect my problem. Thanks to ALL who have made an input. Love this forum and the folks involved
