Default A&A Kit with Chuck Cow tune and 3:42 gears

I have been lurking around the forum for a few years gaining valuable information from a lot of people. Yes, this is my first post and I would like to thank Powerlabs and everyone that has helped me with install questions on Andy's kit which is truly an amazing product.

As the title says, the car was tuned buy Chuck, has his 3:42 gears installed and was tuned using EFILive. The car was fast before the gears but becomes a rocket with the 3:42's. Anybody that says gears wont make a big difference in a FI needs to drive one.

COME ON NOW GREG!!!! I thought we were gonna keep it our little secret?!?!?!!

F/I motors and My 3.42 A6 ATTACK PACKAGE are the ONLY way to go.

It's foolish to put a blower on an A6 without a higher ratio diff.

It causes too much stress on the internals of the A6 and while it will last for a while....IT AIN'T GONNA LAST FOREVER.

A gear get's the RPMs up quicker (which means MO-BOOST-FASTER) and less load on the motor...

HAVE FUN WITH IT GREG!

F/I with 3.42, that must cause whiplash, do you have a warning sticker for your passengers?

Chuck, how does this help the A6? Does it have something to do with the increased pressure from F/I and with the higher gear it does the same work at lower pressure?

Now I am thinking of upgrading to 3.42, thanks.

It makes a big difference even without the FI....and with a good tune you'll feel like you got 100 HP The car will behave totally different.

Give me a call.

Default Don't forget to tell them....

Don't forget to tell them that you bought the EFI LIVE V2 CABLE from us so that you could tune your A6 tranny from 1,000's of miles away without taking the trans apart!

Any changes you need or want to make to the car are only an e-mail away!

This is just the set up I have been planning. Wish you were a little closer so I could check it out. Have fun.

Silly boy.... Actually, you would be quite surprised (or better yet EMBARRASSED) if you ran along side an Automatic 6 speed vette with the "HOLY COW! - 3.42 A6 ATTACK PACKAGE" rear end and my A6 ATTACK TUNE. A comparably equipt 3.42 stick has no chance.

STICKS, WATCH YOUR BACKS - CAUSE THE CoW A6's are gonna ATTACK!

Default Here's the deal.

Here's the deal. EVERYONE has driven a 10 speed bike at some time in their life.

Imagine this...Imagine your A6 vette is a 10 speed bike and you're gonna try to take off fast from a stop in 5th speed....and you still got 5 gears to go.

When taking off from a stop in 5th gear...HOW ARE YOUR LEGS GONNA FEEL AFTER THE FIRST 100 yards?!?!?!

Now, put your 10 speed bike in 1st speed and try the same test.

In the first test, your legs practically fall off after the first 100 feet...you don't go very fast....and you're in pain. Not good.

This is how your poor A6 tranny feels trying to drive aggressively with a 2.56 rear end.

NOW... How much easier was it on your legs to take off in 1st???? How much faster did you go????? How much longer could you keep peddling when the "load" was so much less?????

ANSWER: MUCH.....MUCH.....MUCH....BETTER, EASIER, FASTER.

There you go.

Default Manual vs Auto

I defiantly wanted a Manual trans. but was told that the auto would shift faster and the wife could drive it without worrying about a clutch. When I took delivery of the car it was really disappointing to have a performance car that shifted like a Yugo. It would take forever for the torque converter to think about doing a gear selection.

With the blower the car was fast but the transmission was even a bigger disappointment. With the addition of the 3:42's and the attack tune the car becomes an animal and will out shift any manual regardless of the driver. And the best part, it scared the wife so bad she will not even thing of driving the car again. THANKS CHUCK!!

Your auto may shift faster (I'm sure it does) but 570 RWHP in my opinion is alot more fun on the street when you can row the gears yourself. I'm not knocking your work at all.

ANOTHER WINNER!!!!! Let me tell you.....I've been saying it for years....

If you don't upgrade your A6 diff to 3.42s with forced induction....

A) You risk killing the trans prematurely...

B) YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE MISSING!!!

How many times have I had guys tell me (that never actually drove em') that 3.42's were too much for Forced Induction....

Some of you guys out there seem to actually know better! Right Greg????

For anyone interested in my A6 ATTACK PACKAGE, we're gonna be running a special really soon!!!

Keep your eyes open!

I have an A6 car with Vortech. Been thinking about gears as a potential future mod. How much does RPM go up at hwy speed from the stock 2.56?

Believe it or not an A6 car with 3.42s and stock-ish size tires will cruise in 6th gear at 70mph @ 1,975 RPM ALL DAY LONG!

A C6 with Z51 and 4.10s cruises @ 2,050 rpms and nobody seems to mind, so you A6 is VERY comfortable on the highway.

Some cry (who don't know better) that 3.42s will hurt mileage.

THAT STATEMENT IS TOTALLY FALSE.

Fact is that you need a significant throttle opening to keep an A6 moving with 2.56s cause the gear offers very little torque multiplication.

SO, when trying to maintain speed or accelerate, you have to press down futher on the gas...opening the throttle more, sucking in more air, creating more LOAD for the engine, and causing the PCM to add more fuel....when the rpms are lower with the weaker gear.

Now, for anyone with 4.10's in a stick or 3.42s in an A6, the gear does most of the work so....ENGINE LOAD is lower, throttle openings are less, less air is required for most cruise situations, and the PCM sprays in less gas even though the RPMs are slightly higher.

Voila! Much faster car without sacrificing fuel mileage or driveability.
