Default The time has come....

Andy & I kissed and made up, which by the way is a far more pleasant way to get things done then being stubborn. I think I've found my equal with respect to stubbornness . Thanks for the great deal Andy & Steve, and sorry for the heartburn I may have caused....

Anywho..... The kit goes in on Thursday over at BSM Performance in Kalihi. I'll pick it up Friday, and hopefully post up the Dyno results. I was going to do the install myself, but after visiting Bode @ BSM to have the crank pinned, he made me an offer I couldn't refuse on the install & tune.

Now for you Super High HP guys, I'm not going to post up some HUGE #'s. I'm looking for no more than 600 whp, in fact 550 would suite me just fine. Oahu is very small, and we don't have the roads the try 180+mph runs. Plus you would go to jail & loose your car if the local law enforcement caught you doing +100 mph.

So thanks to all of you that endured the months of questions & indecision. I appreciate you guys, and will be forever in your debt!

Peace,

Keith

You will be more then happy with 550 + hp on the public roadways. Its will take some getting use to and some constraint on your part.

The A&A products are great and Andy is any exceptional guy – he knows his stuff, and does a great job.

I am a local....

So, the car goes in today, 12PM....I'm all freaked out because I've never left it out of my site since I bought it. I'm like most of you here that has worked VERY hard my whole life to have such a nice ride. ANYWAY, the guys at BSM say that they are going to dyno the car to make sure nothing is wrong to start with, then go ahead with the install.

Two hours later, I get a call from Shaun (really nice guy), Bodies main guy who tells me that the PCM is locked. GAH! So it costs me an extra C-note right off the bat to have the LPE tune unlocked.

I go down to check out the tune, and Bodie shows me two places on the graph with false knock. One @ 4200, the other at 4900. He didn't seem worried about it, but said he was going to look further into it.

What the hell is false knock, and what is it doing in my car?

MAN, my car is not done yet!

They were having problems with the Tech 2 guys who brought the wrong module or something like that....

GAH!

Everything is bolted up, and ready to go.

Sounds like your builder is getting it done...

IN this day of technology you would think this stuff is pretty easy....

Sometimes that's not the case...be patient...mahalo

Yeah, the blower is in and ready to go, Bodie is doing his part. It's the locked PCM that's slowing things down. LPE said they don't lock their tunes, but..... I don't know, maybe it's been tuned again. BAH!

I don't mind the wait, I just want my car back....Safe and sound in my garage.

Thanks for the moral support!

The option of running 325s to 345s in the rear would definitely be nice. Think you'll ever do the fronts?

I really don't think so. I didn't want a Z06 clone, just the added meat in the rear for traction. Well, if I'm being honest, the wide rears make the car look much more aggressive as well...

When I bought HP tuners to learn tuning myself, I followed the instructions to first download the present tune from MTI houston...turns out that tune was locked....All of the personnel said "we dont lock tunes"
So I said please just check it out, turns out it was locked "accidentally" by Jayson himself... Easy fix in the shop. and I was on my way...

Sounds like you have bigger issues. You gotta send your PCM out to get it unlocked??

A tech 2 can unlock 99.9% of the locked PCMs. A tech 2 is the size of a big calculator and all GM dealerships have more than 1.

Sounds like your waiting on a fellow to bring over the right tech 2 for your car. Relax, you'll be on the road and replacing rear-ends, transmissions, and tires before you know it!

That's funny Ed, I was shopping for a new rear end last night. I will buy one in the next week or so, and have it replaced. Would the DTE Stage 2 diff suffice, or do you guys think the stage 3 would be a better option?

After seeing Sam's post on his new rubber, I REALLY want a set. I'd love to be able to hook-up all that power in 1st, and just boogy, but I KNOW that if I did it with the stock rear, where I start my launch will be where the tow truck comes to get me....

And yes, we are just waiting for the Tech 2 guy to bring the right module... I wish he would hurry!

BSM has done their job well, no complaints thus far. I figured that since the car was in, I'd have all the juices changed as well. Diff, Trans, Oil, Coolant, EVERYTHING! When I get it back, I'll have piece of mind, AND be stoked that I've got a super-charged beast...

All I want for Christmas is my vette back!
