Precisely. I ran a Beck sheet metal intake in my Camaro SS with the motor that's for sale in my signature, and it spun 8k rpms. Unless you're spinning 7-7500 rpms, I wouldn't bother with one of these.

Its hard to say for certain yet, but we used this compared to the LSXr and there were zero differences in power on our 1k TT car.

So when you talk about the money difference, then it doesnt seem justifiable.

I installed an LSXR intake and gained 25 rwhp on a D1 procharger, the "power to money ratio" doesn't copmute well with me but If it wasn't the fact that I had a FI setup, I would have not put on a after market intake. I believe thats where the money for these prducts shine on small to medium gains (10- 30rwhp) on big FI setups. My .02

I know a few guys running 8s with a LS6 or LS2 intake,FI setup. These guys will spend anything for 30HP and non of them run a sheetmetal intake.
Most of them don't even bother to port them.

Those Marcella mannies are just ridiculous. They wouldnt make it off of my coffee table or fireplace mantle. Let alone into the garage or on the car where they might get tarnished.

That guy should be building space stations.

I think the majority of the people running sheet metal intakes is because the stock plastic piece broke, popped, cracked, or failed in one way or another from boost pressures or alky backfires.

Our testing has shown a loss of 10-20 rwtq, 5k and below, with a gain of 6-10 rwhp from 6-7k on the short runner manifolds compared to the long runner stock piece.

Not all sheetmetal instakes are made equal... mine has billet "crossover" velocity stacks just like their composite brothers...
