The ZR1 is a total package. Body, Suspension, Brakes, motors and refined interior. I don't really care for the hood with the blower showing and all of the carbon fiber parts.

Overall, It's a great car, just a little pricey.
I'm just talking bang for the buck here , a ZR1 is all about the prestige of having one . I'm not all about straight line performance , most of the hi-tech options on the car will never be put to the test on the street , I'm sure it won't be long before a new ZR1 gets it's azs handed to it by a C6Z06 or C6 with a few mods . A nice big cowl hood would've looked a lot better than the glass one .

No problems with heat and that blower on a road course?

I'm a drag racer but I always thought FI was not ideal on a road course.

I agree with ya on the hood. I like the ZR1 body kit style and interior amennities myself.

The intercooler is up in the manifold on this style system versus in front of the radiator.

A&A's new intercooler design may change the old road racing rules of N/A is best. Maybe a nice motor with 5-7 psi of boost will be do able at the track.

This conversation has been happening since I was posting in the C4 forums.
  • Why buy a C5, I can make my C4 make the same horsepower for a lot less. Than it was...

  • Why buy a ZR1, I can make my C5/C6/C6 Z06 make the same horsepower for a lot less.
The bottom line is that each generaton and version have their improvements. If you want to benefit from all those improvements you need to buy the latest version or upgrade your car (which would cost more). Are the improvements worth increase in price, that's a personal decision.

If you want one of the best supercars available in the world today, (as well as American made and the best value), there is only one, ZR1.

Here is the dyno sheet:

We also tried an 1/34 header which should a significant loss over the larger header. The larger header is the way to go.

We have left a lot more power on the table with the tune as again I only pulled the car a couple times on the dyno with the new ARH exhaust system and left a very conservative tune in it. Thanks again to Chad for getting me the software. The EFI Live software for the 09 ZR1 worked great. I personally drove the car after I tuned the car and I can say this thing runs great!

We have another customer picking up their new ZR1 next week. He is looking for an even more aggressive package. We are working on a custom pulley system and air box, both should really help this beast reach its full potential. I can tell you now that replacing the pulley is not going to be as easy as it is on a Magnusson but we think it will be possible with some creative designing.

Here are several pictures of the install:
