Default Final tune on A&A V3 kit!

Alright, I post up a week ago when I got tuned with the 54# injectors. Here's the thread:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=2116172

Owen at ARD (Advanced Racing Dynamics) wanted to get some larger injectors in to see if we could fix the lean spike from 5600 and up. Talked to Andy at A&A, and he sent me the Motoron 60#'ers. Lucky the hurricane stayed away from southeast TX and Houston area, I was able to make my appointment at ARD yesterday afternoon.

I installed the 60# injectors, then Owen scaled the injectors, and that's it. We made our first pulled.....and to my surprise, the car ran pig rich as you can see.

So Owen started adjusting and getting the A/F where it needed to be. We didn't hot lap dyno the car either. Owen took the time to have some cool down time between dynoing. Temps in the shop dyno area was reading between 101-102 degrees during my time there. It was hot!

Also interesting, the 54# injectors were running 90% duty cycle last week when dynoing, going lean up top. These 60# Mototrons were only at (i think Owen said) 67% duty cycle. Much more in them.

A recap on what's been done to the car. Bone stock LS2 long block motor, Kooks 1 3/4 headers, kooks CATTED x-pipe, Magnaflow catback. Andy's A&A V3 kit with 3.6 pulley, 60# injectors with KB BAP.

Here's the final run we got:

584.70 rwhp and 509.61 rwtq
I'm happy with the results. Not bad for small headers, catted x pipe, and a Magnaflow catback which isn't the highest flowing catback. Also it was hot, with 101 degree temps on the dyno. Owen and I figure with some colder weather, the car would be over 600 to the wheels. I'm just glad I can take her to redline safetly with no problems now!

On the street the car feels great. I saw about 10lbs of boost on a 3rd gear hwy pull. These 60# injectors feel smoother down low and in the mid range than the 54#'s felt. Not sure why.

I want to thank Owen and Jay at Advanced Racing Dynamics for being friendly and caring about how my car does. They spent plenty of time yesterday evening helping me out. Owen knows his stuff when it comes to tuning, and he wants the customer to be happy but at the same time he will step in and tell you whats safe or what to look out for when tuning. You're NOT just a number when you get work done with them! I would highly recommend stopping by they're shop and website or giving them a call if you need some work done. Just be prepared, Owen can talk your head off when it comes to cars!!!

Also want to thank Andy and his gang at A&A. They been a big help when I need some answers and called them up. I'm sure I bothered them quite a bit! Also, great kit by the way. Obviously they sell a lot of them!

Good job on getting it figured out.

I do think that with 10psi you should have a little more power than you do, but who knows it might be the dyno. Maybe retest when it isnt sooo hot out?

R U running an alky kit? If not, you should DEFINITELY add one if you are going to run 10psi like that.

The V-3 is self contained. The V-2 uses engine oil. Right now you can get the S-Trim and the T-Trim either way.

Sweet. I've got basically the same kit then (mine is a V2 S trim) and the same car (2006 C6) with the same headers (Kooks 1 3/4 and a catted X-pipe except I am running a full 3 inch exhaust. I think my pulley is the 3.8"; its whatever comes with the kit stop. Hoping for similar numbers though. Only difference aside from the exhaust is I had the TB and the intake manifold ported and I will be running 93 octane.

Owen has the newest version dynojet, and said that it can't be tampered with. He explained that many shops would tamper with the older models. He said that if I could get on MTI's dyno, for example, I would show an easy 20 or so more horsepower to the wheels more. But, can't do that anyway because MTI's out of business!

I believe that with colder weather it would be over 600 to the wheels on ARD's dyno. Heck, just a 20 minute cool down would net another 10-15rwhp over doing back to back pulls. I'm sure if we had let the car cool down an hour or two, I probably could have netted 590-600 easy. But, that doesn't matter to me, I just want to have a safe, strong running car, and that's what I've got. Maybe later down the road I might repulley. I'm not sure about meth injection though...

I'm sure I could also net higher if I had no cats as well, but I'm willing to sacrifice a few hp over not having a stinky exhaust!

Not loud at all, nothing like procharger loud. Just a small whistle from underneath the hood.

Let us know how it goes with the tune.

No better time than now. The systems are on sale, $5,350 for a V-3 S-Trim system!

I run 93

You should be 550-575 depending on outside temps, type of dyno, etc.

True. If I hit anything over 550 I'll be happy... I'm not a dyno kinda guy, but a lot of people on this forum care about the numbers and I think that would be a good number to make
Considering a stock LS7 makes 440 to 460 at the rear wheels and a stock LS2 makes 340 to 360, 550 would be over 600 crank, so that's not too shabby

OH MAN!
That thing took about 18 seconds to go from 30 to 170MPH

You know, back when I was in college driving a Subaru and didn't have half the money for a Corvette I saw this video: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/S...e-25_68911.htm. It was the first Corvette video I ever remember watching; I didn't know much about them, had never really seen one up close and didn't really care about them at all (figured it was "just another american car" ). After that video I was so blown away (I thought only motorcycles could accelerate like that!) that I knew one day I would have to have one just like that.
This weekend that dream comes true And you know what is even more amazing? I saw that video the day it came out: September 3rd 2006. That was 2 years ago yesterday.
